To Shiloh (or anyone at the mansion)
Shiloh hadn't called. It wasn't as if it had been a long time, or anything, but Morris was the anxious sort. Had he been imagining the fact that the guy was into him? Maybe that woman he was with didn't want him calling strange men he'd met at the library. Maybe it was the necromancer thing. Or maybe it just hadn't been long enough and he was being obsessive. The later was the most likely, but that didn't keep him from seeking out Bernadette's mansion and going there. He wasn't afraid of vampires in the least, though it wasn't as if he could do much to them. But he was definitely no push over, so he didn't hesitate to head up on the porch.

He eyed the place. It was a large plantation style home that would have looked out of place if it hadn't been in the nicest section of town. Two stories, with a wrap around porch on each layer, pillars made it look grandiose. It bordered on cliche, and he wondered if Bernadette hadn't been human in the south somewhere. He lifted his hand and knocked on the door before noticing a doorbell and ringing that once or twice to get the attention of anyone who might be inside. It was dark, so he figured people would be up and about.

He held the dog in his arms and gestured with his head for Shiloh to follow him. He knew where the dog had been buried when he concentrated on it and he was going to take it back there. "I'm sorry," he said quietly, realizing that he didn't need to snark at the boy who'd been so nice to him, and so unafraid of what he was. "I'll rebury it and then we can head back."

Shiloh didn't want to head back to the mansion, but he was quiet as he followed after Morris. They made their way into a quite home's backyard, and even through the dark he could see the hole the dog had managed to dig himself up from.

"Kissing me really did this?" he asked quietly after a moment. "What would happen if we slept together?" he added, his cheeks growing warm at the very notion.

"Yes," Morris answered honestly, fighting a blush himself at Shiloh's next question. "Judging from the kiss, I might raise a whole cemetary." Part of his tone was chiding, but he had to wonder what would really happen. "Maybe nothing, since I'll be expecting it now." He wasn't exactly sure how he would broach this subject with Merrin, but he knew it needed addressing. More to the point, he desperately hoped he needed to prepare for something like that happening between them.

Pushing dirt back over the dog, Morris went quiet for a moment. The earth stopped moving as the dog died all over again, falling back into silence.

Shiloh laughed softly, and he bit down on his lower lip to silence himself so that he didn't wake anyone inside of the house. Not that he'd laughed all that loud, but it also seemed like what they were doing didn't need laughing involved. When the earth went still, he just stared for a moment before he reached over and took a hold of Morris' hand again, not caring that it was covered in dirt.

"Would it help if I was a bad kisser?" he asked after a moment, managing a smile.

When Shiloh said adorable things like that, Morris couldn't help but kiss him. He used their interlocked hands as an advantage, tugging Shiloh off balance and catching him with a kiss. He didn't care that they were in someone's backyard, or that they were awkwardly kneeling over some poor zombie dog's grave.

Shiloh's eyes went a little wide, and a soft little 'oof' sound escaped him as he sort of fell against Morris and into the kiss. It was a pleasant surprise, one that made his heart pound, and he wondered if Bernie could hear just a block away. It was probably a silly thought, but he liked to think they were that connected. He kissed Morris back, and one of his hands curled around the fabric of Morris' jacket.

Morris would always be a little awkward. His jumpy starts and stops were at the heart of him. But Shiloh didn't seem to mind. He kept kissing him, trying to disconnect his power that he could feel boiling in his stomach. He wondered if he'd ever be able to just let go with Shiloh; the boy drove him crazy and made him so distracted that he had an almost impossible time curbing the swell of energy that would call the dead to him.

When Morris got a little more aggressive, he tipped Shiloh back so that his butt hit the grass. Just kissing him was amazing. His hand brushed up against Shiloh's cheek, the grit of dirt rubbing over his skin.

Shiloh fell back and let out a soft grunt that was mixed with a moan. He let his fingers grab a hold of Morris' shirt and he tugged him closer. He deepened the kiss and slipped a hand down to grip one of the older man's hips. He was so lost in the kiss that his head felt like it was spinning.

When the light flipped on, Morris almost didn't notice. But it was hard to ignore the rather cross elderly man yelling at them to get off his property or he was going to call the police. Morris pulled back and stood up, lifting Shiloh to his feet as well. He held up his hand to the angry man as if to say he'd been heard and to please stop shouting, but the man would have none of it and he took a step forward to chase them off.

When Shiloh heard the old man yelling, he let out a sheepish laugh as Morris pulled him up to his feet. He was in too good of a mood to let the old man bring him down, and he ignored him completely as he took a hold of Morris' hand so that he could tug him away and out of the backyard. He could still hear the man shouting, and he glanced over at Morris with a lopsided grin. "He's just jealous because he probably gets no action from his old lady wife," he joked.

Morris' typically sallow skin had a rosy flush to it as he caught his breath from the burst of excitement. "Well, and he probably thinks we dug up his dead dog before making out." Morris spoke seriously and then started to laugh a little over what that man must be thinking right now. "But I'm glad he didn't call the cops since I know most of the department." His EMT job granted him ample opportunity to get to know the local police force. That would have been profoundly embarrassing.

Shiloh grinned, remembering just what it was that Morris did for a living. "Oh God, I can imagine," he said with a soft laugh as they made their way down the street together, dirty hands intwined. "Can I see you again tomorrow? When do you have some more time for me?" he asked after a moment as he came to a stop underneath a street lamp so that he could meet Morris' eyes. "Maybe we can have dinner."

Tomorrow? Morris felt his heart give a jump at the suggestion. The notion that Shiloh wanted to see him again that quickly made Morris's head spin. "More time for you. I--yeah--tomorrow works just fine."

He held Shiloh's gaze, considering his next words carefully. "Dinner like a date?" He asked hopefully. They'd made out and all, but Morris wanted to be reassured, hear the words.

Shiloh couldn't help but smile at Morris' words, and he offered a little nod of his head as he looked up at the other man. Shiloh was tall, but Morris had about two extra inches on him, and he really liked that. He found he was attracted to men taller than him, and definitely more handsome than he ever could be.

"Yes," he said after a moment. "What time would be good for you?"

"Seven?" It was the first time that came to his head. He'd call in sick if he had to, but fortunately, he was off tomorrow. Three days on, three days off, one day on call. "What do you like to eat?" That question made him realize that he had a lot to learn about Shiloh and he was looking forward to it.

"Seven's good," Shiloh agreed as the mansion came into view. He paused and swung their hands together. "I like anything, I'm not picky. Italian is always good, though. Or that diner, that place has the best burgers. And pie."

While Morris could appreciate how good Mabel's was, he wanted something a little more formal for their first official date. "Italian," he decided out loud. "And I'll keep working on the whole raising the dead thing, make sure I don't draw some body out of hiding if we happen to kiss unexpectedly again."

"All right," Shiloh said with a warm laugh. He let his hand rest against Morris' chest as he leaned in to kiss him again, letting it linger for just a little bit before he pulled back. "I'll see you tomorrow at seven then," he said with a nod. He couldn't wait to go inside and see Bernie.

Morris was pretty sure he could listen to that laugh all night. "Tomorrow," he nodded and gave Shiloh a little wave before he watched him disappear inside. It felt wrong to just let him go back in there with all of those monsters, but there was nothing he could do about it at the moment that wouldn't upset Shiloh.

Bernadette was waiting inside, looking nonchalant about it. She stood just past the foyer, arranging a large bouquet of Easter lilies. Her delicate fingertips brushed over the petals, moving them about gently to her taste.

Shiloh cast one last glance back at Morris before he slipped into the mansion. When he saw Bernie there, he smiled and went over to her to see what she was doing.

"I have a date tomorrow night," he said after a moment. "I'm not even sure what I should wear."

Since the visit from Hunter, Bernadette had been on edge, frustrated with the situation with the wolves. She had a difficult time being anxious when Shiloh was around though and seeing his pleasure made her smile. The mention of a date brought a bit of tension to the corners of her mouth though. "With the necromancer?" she asked in a tone of voice that was slightly higher than her normal pitch.

"Yes, we just went for a walk, and he's a really good kisser," Shiloh said as he grabbed a hold of her hand. "I wanted to talk to you about it. Are you busy?" Bernie usually was never busy when it came to Shiloh, but he was always polite enough to ask.

"I'm not busy in the least." She poked at the lilies one more time with her free hand and seemed to be satisfied with how they looked now. "Though I must warn you, I know very little about kissing men. I've never been a huge fan of it."

She squeezed his hand a little and walked them into the main sitting room. With one pointed glance, she chased the three occupants out of the area so that she and Shiloh could be alone.

"Well I'm sure you're good at it, I don't think there's anything you couldn't be good at," Shiloh said softly as he followed her into the sitting room. Once they were settled, he slipped out of his shoes and tugged his jacket off. "You don't like him much, do you?"

"That's kind of you. I'm good at arranging flowers and taking apart video games, but I'm terrible at sex." She spoke bluntly. "It only seems that I could be good because I've warped your poor little mind so that you'll fall in love with me." It couldn't be decided if she was being mean or merely teasing, but she reached out to tug his hand into her lap to distract him from what she'd said.

"No, I don't particularly like him. I like humans that feel alive. Morris does not feel alive and it's unnatural." Funny thing coming from her.
