As much as Graham wanted to say that he'd never miss pack life, he could never quite say the words. He sometimes missed his pack... especially Sigmund. They had a rough go of things for a few years, but it was hard to shake feelings for someone when you had such a deep ... Well, he wasn't sure what it was that they'd had. But Graham wasn't the best type of man for a pack. He didn't get along with Hunter at all, and honestly? He hardly got along with any of the other wolves.

So he took off on his own after he and Sigmund had decided to part ways once and for all. They always fell back together, so it was easier to just leave. And he found another wolf who he ended up traveling with sometimes. They tracked hunters who tracked their kind. They'd saved a lot of packs, and killed some hunters in their day, but what had to be done had to be done in Graham's opinion.

When he caught wind of the Cold Water pack being in trouble, he couldn't push down the familiar feelings of protectiveness. That was his pack, even if he wasn't actively there or a part of it. Two days later, and he was at Sigmund's door knocking. When a young man with tossled hair answered, Graham arched a brow.

"Who the fuck are you?" he asked the boy.

Casey just sort of blinked before he furrowed his brow and wet his lips. He hadn't expected that sort of greeting from the stranger at all.

"Um, my name's Casey, who are you?" he said in return.

"Where's Sigmund?" Graham asked as he pushed the human aside. It was still Sigmund's home. He could feel it... And mell the other wolf, too.

At the ear biting, Sigmund let out a low and threatening growl. It hurt and Graham had drawn first blood, Sigmund could feel it seeping against his fur. That was a victory in itself and it infuriated him.

Maw opened wide, Sigmund wheeled and grazed his teeth across Graham's muzzle, going for the very tender spot of his nose. It showed just how angry Sigmund was because he never fought dirty like that. Even in wolf form, Sigmund had a very human sense of honor.

When Sigmund's teeth clamped around his muzzle like that and drew blood, Graham let out a surprised yelp, and that only pissed him off even more. He drew first blood, but Sigmund got the first noise of pain, and that was enough to make Graham want to tear the other wolf limb from limb if he could. And maybe he could have, but deep down, he didn't really want to.

He used his claws to dig into Sigmund's side and pushed, nails marking up the other wolf as it dug through the protected coat of fur. When he was released, he clamped his mouth around one of Sigmund's front paws and just went to town on it, biting and shaking his head back and forth angrily.

That was going to continue to hurt when he shifted back into human form, and Sigmund tried to think of which hand that was. Right hand. The distinctly human thoughts distracted him and Graham was gaining the advantage. He tried to jerk his paw away and quickly lost his footing, hitting the ground with a grunt. The shaking back and forth didn't help either. He felt like his foreleg was going to get pulled from it's socket.

But he wasn't about to give up. Using his other paw, he slashed across the already tender nose of his opponent and snapped at the wolf's neck, sinking his jaws against it. He wasn't clamped down very hard though, losing his nerve.

Graham made a noise of pain mixed with a growl as Sigmund's paw made contact with his nose, and his grip on the other wolf's paw loosened. When he felt Sigmund's jaws close around his neck, it didn't matter that he could tell Sigmund's heart wasn't completely in that bite. It was a power move, and Graham was having none of it.

He let go of Sigmund's paw and turned his head to snap at the other wolf's neck in return, his entire coat bristling with anger as his teeth managed to sink in, and he wasn't nearly as kind as Sigmund had been.

And there was Sigmund's weakness; he wasn't a closer. He held on for a remarkably long time as Graham bit into his neck, crushing his windpipe. He had to wonder if the wolf really would kill him, or go at him even if Sigmund overcame all of his instinct and simply submitted.

Slowly, his jaws parted and released Graham entirely, giving him the full advantage. But he was not going to stop struggling and fighting. It took a little while before the lack of air finally got to him and he couldn't struggle anymore. That was when he dropped in Graham's jaws, legs giving out beneath him and he was out, never having given up or submitted properly.

Graham drew a little bit of blood, and the wolf in him definitely savored the taste. He growled, continuing to assert his dominance until he felt Sigmund go limp. He finally let go then and licked at his chops before he started to clean Sigmund up with his tongue. One moment he was biting into the wolf, and the next he was doting over him, but only because he had gotten his way. After a moment, Graham settled down next to Sigmund to curl up with him, like he had so many times before.

The licking made Sigmund come out of it quickly. The feeling of loss set in and he growled at Graham the entire time he was cleaning him up, but he didn't make a move to stop him from doing so. To be honest, it felt good and he laid his big head down on his paws with a sigh.

He was humiliated. He hated that he didn't have a cutthroat nature and that Graham did. But when the wolf curled up with him, he drew his tongue over his muzzle, as if apologizing for biting him there.

Now that they had gotten the fighting out of the way, it was as if they hadn't fought at all, save for the obvious sting of injury. Graham closed his eyes and yawned as his tail swished back and forth, as if he was completely content. It wasn't very long before he drifted off to sleep, curled up with the other wolf.
