Two and a half months was much too long to go without seeing Joshua. They kept in touch, yes - but it wasn't the same as being next to him or being with him. Never in a million years would Andrew have guessed he'd form such a bond and connection with the wolf when he bid on him and took him home as a treasured pet. To think of his mindset back then made Andrew sick. It made him feel ashamed. But he wasn't the same person anymore, and that's what mattered, he supposed.

Once the twins were settled, and his father spoke with Hunter, Andrew went out to find Joshua. He slipped into the room that belonged to Josh, but when his boyfriend wasn't there, he went across the hall to the little one's room. Sure enough, that's where he was, tucked in the tiny bed with the two of them and a book on his chest. They'd all fallen asleep. Andrew smiled a little before he went over and reached out to brush some of Josh's hair out of his face. It'd gotten longer, even in just two months.

It had been nice to have the boys to focus on while Andrew was gone. If it hadn't been for them, he would have gone crazy with missing Andrew. Fortunately, the boys had been more than happy to eat up his attention and time. Still, Joshua had thought at least a million years had passed since he'd been able to feel Andrew against him. See him.

Somewhere in his dreams, he caught the scent of his boyfriend. He'd been dreaming of running as he often did and as he stood in the middle of the woods, he could smell Andrew's familiar smell. Slowly, he started to be aware that this was a dream and as he swam his way up into consciousness, he started to feel his anticipation grow to the point of bursting. When he opened his eyes and saw Andrew there, he lunged up to throw his arms around him. The movement was abrupt and would have woken up any normal little boys. But somehow, Jeremiah and Julian slept right through it like little rocks.

Andrew hadn't expected Joshua to launch himself up at him like that, but he gladly accepted the hug and wrapped his arms around Joshua in return to hold onto him. He glanced down at the two little boys and was surprised to see that they were still sound asleep. Smiling a little bit, he turned his head to press his mouth against Joshua's jaw and he pulled him in even closer.

"Hey," he mumbled softly. "Missed you."

Really, those two words felt like a giant understatement. He'd more than missed Joshua, but there was no other way to really put it.

"I was going to fucking die without you," Joshua whispered, keeping his voice down. He used Andrew's body as leverage to get off of the bed. "Phone sex sucks," he said in his usual colorful manner, then covered his mouth with his hand, really hoping his brothers weren't just pretending to be asleep.

"We should go to my room," he said rather urgently, grabbing Andrew's wrist and tugging him across the wall, not waiting for him to answer. He needed to be alone with him.

Andrew let out a soft laugh, but he bit down on his lower lip to quiet himself. He really didn't want to wake the little ones up. As Joshua got up and tugged him out of the room, Andrew made no protest and instead just followed eagerly. Once they were in the privacy of Joshua's room with the door closed, Andrew dipped his head down and pulled Joshua in for a rough, needy kiss.

The kiss unwound Joshua completely. At once, his hands were all over Andrew, intent on relearning the landscape of his body. For a moment, he feared that he'd forgotten it, but as he ran his fingertips up underneath the man's shirt, Joshua was pleased to realize that it all came rushing back to him. More than two months was an eternity to a young person.

"You kind of need to fuck me now. Like right now." It was rare that he so readily gave up the top spot. There always seemed to be a little bit of coaxing or dominating needed to get Josh to submit. But right now, he was demanding it--which in and of itself wasn't submitting, but it was damn close for Josh.

Andrew's hands were all ready all over Joshua, tugging at his clothing and hair. He groaned a little at Joshua's words, and he backed him up to the bed before he turned to sit down. He pushed Joshua's shirt up and off, and then he worked on getting his pants undone and off. He leaned forward, his lips ghosting along the other's bellybutton as he looked up at him and pushed his pants down.

He loved every part of the way Andrew made him feel. There was always teasing, always the power he felt radiating off of the other man. It excited him beyond measure.

Andrew couldn't help but grin at the begging. He groaned a little, all ready hard and filled with anticipation. It had been much, much too long since he'd had Joshua.

Once he had Joshua's pants off, he slipped out of his own shirt and pants, shoes and socks as well, then he slid back onto the bed a bit and pulled the younger boy down onto his lap. His arms looped around Joshua's waist, and he gave a squeeze as he kissed him hard, and his hips rocked upwards to create some friction between them.

Joshua was having a hard time preventing a shift. At first he hadn't noticed because he was so intensely involved in what was going on with Andrew. But that was exactly the problem; all of the excitement and lust was getting to his wolf, begging for it to come out. It hurt, but felt good too. But he knew that Andrew could control it for him and he leaned into his ear. "Help," he said softly.

Normally, Joshua didn't want any assistance with his wolf (unless it was a true danger and even then he resented not being able to do it himself). But right now, he didn't want to stop doing what he was doing and he wanted to concentrate on only this. His hands were digging so hard into Andrew's arms that his fingernails were drawing a smear of blood.

It had been a long, long time since Joshua needed help with preventing a shift. Turning, he put Joshua beneath him and settled on top of him, and he dipped his head down to brush a kiss against one of the other boy's shoulders. He pushed out a wave of calming energy, and now that he knew how to handle Joshua's wolf better, it was easy to actually tangle their energies together. It felt a lot different than the other times he'd had to push a shift back. Instead of it being all him, he could feel Joshua working with him and it was phenomenal.

"Oh yes, I'm so terrible," Andrew said with a rich laugh.

Honestly, he use to be cocky and full of himself when it came to his magical gifts and talents. Somehow, over the past year and a half and growing up, that had changed and he was more humble. It made him much better at his craft, too.

"We went to this man's house - someone who deals in magical collections like my family does, and he had these two girls - the ones I texted you about. Twins. He'd turned one into a werewolf, and one into a vampire," he said quietly, his voice changing from cheerful to serious. "We couldn't leave them there - he kept them prisoner. Didn't let them go out anywhere." Andrew had taken Joshua many places, and let him go out. Still, he felt guilty, and it probably showed in his voice and on his face.

Part of him missed how easy it used to be to piss Andrew off. Joshua was naturally the sort who enjoyed pushing people's buttons and with Andrew, it either ended in a fight or one hell of a fuck session. But he also liked the idea that Andrew was growing up, becoming more solid. He didn't want to anger him so much one day that he would just give up on Josh, so he was glad that it was more difficult to hurt his pride.

"It would be horrible if Julien or Jeremiah were a vampire." He shuddered at the thought, having heard stories of how awful vampires were and that they stank of death. He wrinkled his nose with distaste and wondered what sort of man would do that to human beings.

When he registered Andrew's look of guilt, Joshua leaned up to kiss him. "Even when you pretended that I was your pet, you treated me nicer than that." He smiled a little, liking to think that he was never truly 'captive,' just letting Andrew think he was until his brilliant and mighty escape plan.

There was no doubt that Joshua would still be able to push certain buttons. At the moment, Andrew was just so happy to see him again that he'd probably let Joshua get away with just about anything he wanted. He was that in love with him and that far gone. Being away from him, even if for only a few months, was just too long. All Andrew wanted to do was lay in bed with him for as long as they were allowed.

"I always wanted you to be more than my pet," Andrew admitted with a soft laugh as he ran his fingers through Joshua's hair. "I just couldn't force that sort of thing on you, though." He'd never be able to be that kind of a person. Taking Joshua away from his brothers had been terrible enough of him to do.

Joshua hated that sad expression. He wished he could go back in time and tell his past self that Andrew was a good person despite evidence to the contrary. But he had to content himself with knowing that things had worked out for them.

"I like the idea that you wanted me as soon as you saw me. Sometimes I even like the idea that I belong to you, that you own me in the eyes of sorcerers everywhere." The time away from Andrew had made him confront how much he really needed him and that maybe it wasn't so bad to belong to someone.

Joshua couldn't help but think of Logan first when Andrew said that, even though there were more than a few who were leery of how Andrew and Joshua had gotten together.

Thinking about the other wolf made him frown a little and press his face in against Andrew's chest because he didn't want the other to see it. He offered a shrug. "In the wild, stronger things dominate and kill weaker things all the time. No one flinches when we kill a deer. If a sorcerer is stronger, I wonder if maybe they don't have the right to do whatever they want to people weaker than them." It was a bit of his alpha logic talking, the sort that was all for dominating rather than protecting. He still had a lot to work out as he grew up. Fortunately, he was in the right place to do it.

Somehow Andrew could always sense when Joshua was thinking of Logan. It made him more jealous than anything. He hated that he couldn't connect to Joshua the way that Logan could, or any other wolf for that matter. It drove him insane, but he didn't talk about it.

Falling into quiet contemplation, Joshua mulled over what he'd just said. Maybe he would ask Hunter about it.

Finally, he spoke. "I couldn't have picked anyone else. It just wouldn't have worked out. It wouldn't be the same and I wouldn't be as happy." He was almost sure of that. A part of him really believed in fate, in the matters of love anyway.

Andrew ran his fingers back and forth through Joshua's hair as he laid there next to him, and he moved to tangle their legs up together. He liked what Joshua had to say, and it made him smile a bit. It even put him at ease, some.

"I think Logan wanted you, I think he still does," he admitted softly. "It drives me crazy. Sometimes he just gives me this look that says he has access to a part of you I can never have."

After a second, he looked up at Andrew with a weird look on his face. "He does not give you looks like that." Joshua didn't want to believe that Logan would wheedle Andrew. Then again, he poked at Moon all the time.

I know how your kind works - how you mate, and how you can't ever properly mate to me. He looks at me like he's saying he could do that, he could have that with you and I can't. Joshua pursed his lips tightly together and rolled over so that his back was facing Andrew. "I don't want to talk about Logan." Even if he'd grown up a lot since coming to Wolf Haven, Joshua could still pout with the best of them. Times like this always betrayed his youth.

He didn't like thinking about Logan because it made him feel guilty and a little afraid that Andrew would give up on him if he felt like he couldn't really be his mate.

Andrew frowned when Joshua put his back to him like that. He turned onto his side more fully so that he could press his chest up against Joshua's back, and an arm slipped around his waist to hold onto him.

"Don't be cranky," he mumbled, brushing a kiss to the back of one of Joshua's shoulders. "I might be jealous, but he doesn't intimidate me. I'm the one that you chose, I'm the one that has you. Not him."

"Maybe I should bite you," he said. Part of his tone was serious, the other part a little cruel, almost mocking. If Andrew really felt jealous of Logan, then maybe Joshua could make them equal.

He stayed with his back facing him, but he did relax a little into the older man's chest. Andrew's body felt so good to him that he wasn't about to deny himself access to it after so long.

Andrew let out a bit of a laugh and he closed his eyes as he inhaled Joshua's scent. He'd really missed how warm the other could be, and whenever he got cold at night when he was away, he'd think about how warm Joshua always made him.

"I'm a portable space heater. Just wait until summer hits again." He smirked and pictured them lying sprawled out, still touching, but with a little more space between their tangled limbs.

With a laugh, he dipped his head down and brushed a kiss against his mouth, then he settled in and closed his eyes to get some sleep as well.
