Lunch Date
Arthur sat at the table on the outdoor patio at a small cafe in Lisbon and enjoyed the warm sunshine while he waited for his...while he waited for Mera. She had wanted to meet again and talk and he couldn't refuse her. She could ask for the moon and he would find a way to give it to her.

He would never admit it, but he was nervous. Things with Mera were complicated to say the least and he didn't want to do anything that would upset her or ruin his chances of repairing things with her. He loved her, there was no question about that, but they had been through so much that he wondered if they were past the point of being able to forgive each other.

Arthur sipped his cold beer as he waited.

	Mera laughed, light, happy, and thoroughly engaged in the man opposite her. Anyone passing by would see how much she adored him. "Then...why don't we get our lunch to go, pick up a nice bottle of wine, and find the place that will be ours for the night?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Twenty minutes later, they left the cafe with a bag containing their food, a bottle of wine, and two wine glasses that Mera persuaded the waiter to add to the bill. "I'd like to stay near the water." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"I think that place will do," Arthur said as he nodded toward the Barrio Alto Hotel. He had cheated and had asked the waiter about a nice hotel while Mera had used the restroom. 	It didn't really matter what the place looked like to Mera. She was with Arthur and that was all that mattered. She could smell the ocean nearby and felt at peace. That it was beautiful and staffed with friendly people was a bonus. She hummed to herself while Arthur checked them in. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Arthur got a few looks as he checked in, but he ignored them. He was going to spend a night with his wife. He knew that by Atlantean law they were divorced, but in his mind she was still his wife. 	Arthur wrapped his free arm around her to keep her right next to his side. He returned the kiss, but his was not light. It was hard and demanding. He had missed her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The elevator ride wasn't long enough to melt into him the way she wanted, but Mera gave it her best try. When the door slid open, she was putty in Arthur's hands. Remembering what those hands could do made her cheeks flush and and her skin flash hot. It had been too long. "What room was it again?" she managed to ask between kisses. Arthur kept her next to his side. "Right there," he said and nodded to a door not far away from the elevator. Arthur got them to the door and swiped the keycard.

They entered and he stuck the Do Not Disturb card on the door handle before shutting the door. The bag holding the food and wine was placed on a small table near the door.

He smiled as she scooped her up and carried her to the king sized bed.
