Stepping up
It had taken Iris a lot of thought. It had taken her a lot of standing in front of the mirror, asking herself if she was
good enough to do it.
It had also taken some arguing with her parents on her not to hang things up "for her own good". She couldn't just quit. Cait wouldn't have quit. Cerdian wouldn't have quit. Jai wouldn't have quit.
Besides, technically she was giving it up. She was giving up the old and trading it in for the new.
Someone had to do it. Someone had to step up.
And that someone was her. At least, she sure hoped it was.
Iris stood in her room at Titans Tower, looking at herself in her new
costume in the mirror for what seemed to be the hundredth time.
Impulse was gone. Kid Flash was back, again.
She just hoped she could do Jai proud.
