He's grateful for her help, but he knows she'll need to focus her will, not be distracted by him, not give into her impulse to help him. He wishes it were otherwise.
With Cthulhu retreating, he presses his assault. He won't win this, can never win this, but he's just a delaying tactic anyway. Soaring higher, over the elder god, he calls upon the power of six gods, newer, the children of the Titans, but raw, divine power nonetheless, moving out of the way at the last second so the bolt is directed into Cthulhu and the bay around him.
