Michael was anxious, that was for certain. He was getting time to relax, which certainly would be of benefit to him. Too much power use, he'd pass out and be easy prey for these things.
So he waited. And thought of what Jai said. And worried about Traya. And worried about his team.
He was more than willing to push himself some more to ensure his teammates safety, even Cona-Dex.
