Death and Life, or, Henry's Healing Harem
Of course Black Hand would attack Coast City with his latest scheme for world-devastation when Dad and Carol were both out of the galaxy. Thankfully, he did have some backup -- his new Blue Lantern partner was pretty much the only thing keeping Henry alive right now.

Henry hopes that the Guardians can do something to help his arm. Black Hand managed to touch him, and his left arm feels like it's shriveling away, held in check only by his green charge. But it's not time to worry about saving his arm right now. He needs to take Black Hand down, and fast, before he kills any more people.

"Hey, Hand?" Henry snarls. Ava's been keeping him on the ropes for a bit while Henry catches his breath. Black Hand looks up at the Green Lantern. Henry's mind races to think up a pithy line he can deliver.

"Fuck off."

Oh, well. He'll be more pithy next time. He unleashes the full power of his green ring at Black Hand, knocking the zombie flat on his back. "Wrap him up, Ava," he tells his partner. "We need to get him to the Sciencells."

Henry wavers a moment... then collapses, the ring fighting to keep the infection from spreading up his arm. But something must be done, and quickly...

Sitting in the back seat, Avalon is too busy munching on his Twizzlers to mind that Henry is doing the reminder thing again. "Twizzlers taste like snozzberries." he replies, before giving a bit of a laugh and then added, "Of course, cousin. Besides, didn't you say that I should say that I'm from Remulack, a small town in France? Maybe when we get home you can show me where it is on a map. I've not been able to find it but.. it's gotta be there. I just know it."

He then looks to Josh and nudges the seat in front of him - Avalon is in the back seat, after all. "Stop. Worrying. All. Will. Be. Well!" he then says, with emphasis in his somewhat naturally European pronunciation of things..

	A short drive later, they're in the mall, starting in the department store. Okay, department stores are lame places to get chick (and guy) magnet clothes, but it's important to get some basics. Josh glances back at Avalon. "What's a snozzberry?" he asks. "Food from your home?" he goes on. He blinks a few times at the town Ava names and looks up. "Never heard of that place," he says softly.

He jumps when nudged and blushes again. "I'm trying...sorry," he says.

When they get to the department store, Josh looks around with a smile. "Man...haven't been in one of these places since I was a real little kid," he remarks idly. He does blush again when they get to the underwear section but tries to hide it. Bad Josh...stop thinking about the guys trying to help you in underwear. he thinks.

	Josh glances up from the boxer-briefs he looks through to see Henry with the boxers. The healer blinks and turns bright red. "Oh man..." he trails off quietly. Slipping up hehind Josh, Avalon leans up onto his toes and whispers, "Just play along, or refuse to wear them. Either way, if you do not, he will soon be looking for your size as well." With a wide smile, Avalon added, "I refuse to wear them. They are unnatural."

He then flits past, going over to Henry where he pokes at one of the pairs of silk boxers, before he pops some candy in his mouth and grins at Henry widely as he says "I dunno, H.. this pair doesn't compliment your eyes the way the other pair does."

	Josh blinks as he senses Avalon coming up behind him and resists the urge to squeak at the whisper. He's not sure what the Blue Lantern means. "Unnatural?" he asks, lowering the pack in hand. He just ends up staring at Ava and Henry, not sure how to play along yet. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Really?" Josh asks. "Huh..." the healer trails off. "That makes sense. My uhh...grandparents, that's who I grew up with...were a bit over protective. Grandma insisted on doing all the shopping herself...wouldn't let me try my hand on it," he explains as he tries to make up his mind on whether he wants boxers or briefs. Avalon just makes a face, thoughly disgusted with the idea of wearing underware. Then again, he had issues with keeping his clothes on as it already was, and whitey tighties just seemed the antithesis of freedom for him. Or so he had cried in horror at Henry I the near past.

"I don't like them. At all. You're better off Free Fallin', like that song." Avalon shared to Josh, before he took another bite of Snozzberry Twillzler.

Josh blinks at Avalon and then looks him over. "I..uhh...think you mean free balling..." he trails off. He shrugs and whisper. "I heal but my clothes don't. I appreciate the extra layer when I run into a burning building and have something left to cover me after my jeans burn off. Flashing the fire department's not as fun as it might seem," he says.

He blinks at the mention of school and then looks up. "Man...I haven't thought about school in the longest time," he admits.

Josh shrugs. "Honestly? Never thought about it. I'm kinda wary about being a doctor though," he admits. "I mean...if word about my powers got around too much I'd never get a moment's rest. Be hounded day in and day out..." he trails off. "And I've kinda got this recurring nightmare about getting kidnapped by some crazy drug company and cut up for experiments so they can gouge people for healthcare more," he shudders.

Avalon has been silent due to the mass amount of Twizzlers he's been sucking down. When Henry talks to Josh about being a policeman or fireman or whatever, he nodes his head enthusiastically.. until he has to stop and remember what police do. Silly different names on different planets.

When they both look at him, he blinks his eyes wide and then said loftily "We do not wear underpants in France! Why would I want them? Where would I put them? My head?"

	Henry shakes his head, taking the packages up front to pay for them. Once the sale is done, he carries them towards the exit, but when no one is watching, he absorbs them into the ring to be reformed later. No need to carry stuff that doesn't need to be carried.
