Death and Life, or, Henry's Healing Harem
Of course Black Hand would attack Coast City with his latest scheme for world-devastation when Dad and Carol were both out of the galaxy. Thankfully, he did have some backup -- his new Blue Lantern partner was pretty much the only thing keeping Henry alive right now.

Henry hopes that the Guardians can do something to help his arm. Black Hand managed to touch him, and his left arm feels like it's shriveling away, held in check only by his green charge. But it's not time to worry about saving his arm right now. He needs to take Black Hand down, and fast, before he kills any more people.

"Hey, Hand?" Henry snarls. Ava's been keeping him on the ropes for a bit while Henry catches his breath. Black Hand looks up at the Green Lantern. Henry's mind races to think up a pithy line he can deliver.

"Fuck off."

Oh, well. He'll be more pithy next time. He unleashes the full power of his green ring at Black Hand, knocking the zombie flat on his back. "Wrap him up, Ava," he tells his partner. "We need to get him to the Sciencells."

Henry wavers a moment... then collapses, the ring fighting to keep the infection from spreading up his arm. But something must be done, and quickly...

Josh lets out a little strangled noise as he tries to say something but can't quite process language at the moment. He swallows again and shifts how he stands just a little, glad he's wearing tight jeans. No need to be advertising the state of certain parts of himself to the whole store.

"Oh man, Henry," he whispers back. "You have no idea how much I'd like if you did..." he trails off. "Wh-what about Ava though? He could catch us...or someone else..." he trails off. The idea is very tempting to Josh but he's nervous like always.

Henry smirks. "I understand. Nerves. Let's make our purchases, then. Head home. Ava knows I like to appreciate the company of attractive people." He grins. "Then you and I can have a private fashion show of your purchases... and mine." He winks.

Okay, he'd tried to be good. But Josh wanted it. And he'd done his good deeps for the day.

Now Henry was aiming to misbehave.

Oh man. Henry is like...sexy personified into a hot guy

Josh just nods. While part of him is trying to be good still as well, other parts are right with Henry on misbehaving.

"S-sure!" he just about squeaks. The healer quickly heads back into the changing room to get back into his clothes. A quick round of making sure certain things fit and he's back out and following Henry with a pile of new clothes pretty quickly.

Strangely Avalon is waiting for them at the counter. It's like he was psychic or something. Really, he has just gotten the hand-wave from Henry that meant "Make your final decisions and move towards a cash register."

"Hey guys," he says, before he shifts his weight onto a hip, and then grins widely. "I found the most marvelous mufflers. Though I'm not sure what they are supposed to muffle. But they were on sale. I like the green one."

Ooooh, Henry was up to something from the way he was smirking and Josh was flushing. Avalon had a pretty good idea too, but it didn't bother him. At all.

Well, something did bother him, but he wasn't saying anything about it. It had to do with him wanting to play along, but he held back for some of his own reasons, not out of any sort of jealousy. That and it'd probably break Josh's brain if Henry and Ava both were naughty.

Because of his Blue Lantern status, Avalon hadn't convinced himself that kissing his partner was a good thing, and so he left that to Henry and Josh without any sort of upset or resentment.

Henry nods. "Nice choices, Ava," he tells him. "They... muffle the cold, I guess you could say." Henry pays for the purchases, then heads for the exits, bags in hand. He doesn't bother making these purchases vanish -- if he ran into the girls again, it wouldn't make sense to be leaving the mall without any visible bags.

As they walk, Henry pulls Ava a little ahead and out of earshot of Josh. He doesn't want to embarrass him.

"Hey, Ava... when we get home... you mind making yourself scarce for a bit?"

Avalon nods to Henrys muffler explination and happily wraps the hting around his neck. He's a kid like that, but it never stopped him.

Although, when Henry pulls him aside, he doesn't eve blink. "Oh, not a problem. I was gonna go flying anyway; you know how I get stir crazy." He replies. Avalon then gives Henry's shoulder a playful poke as he says "Go get 'em Tiger Woods!"

	Josh is a bit too lost in thought to pay attention to what Henry and Avalon are whispering about that he likely wouldn't hear them even if they were in earshot. He can't believe his day is going so well. Slowly a smile spreads across his face and Josh swallows. He glances up at Henry and Avalon and then back down quickly. "Oh boy," he murmurs to himself. 	Henry gets them to the car, loads up the bags, and hops back in the driver's seat. He notices Josh's quiet, and he looks to Avalon. "Blue, you mind going flying now? Meet you at home in a few hours?" He doesn't want to do this if Josh is bothered by it, and he wants a chance to talk to him alone in the car. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The only problem with fluttering off now is, y'know, being seen. Then again Avalon didn't want to make a fuss about it; he'd just remind Henry later that if they are going to keep this whole identity thing a secret that Avalon can't be sprouting wings in the mall parking lot. He crinkles his nose a bit and then nods his head to Henry before he says soflty "Uhm.. sure."

Stepping out of the car, Avalon scrubbed a hand through his hair and then shoved his hands into his pockets and tried to figure out what he wanted to do.

Making sure he's out of sight, Henry lets Ava's wings come back, then he hops in the car. "Ava's going to go flying for a bit," he says. "He feels a little cooped up without his wings for too long. He'll call me if he runs into trouble." Henry starts the car's engine, and begins heading home.

After a few moments of silence, he glances at Josh. "You're pretty quiet."

	Josh jumps as Ava goes off. "See ya, Ava," he says softly, watching the Blue Lantern go. He goes back to being quiet until Henry speaks up and then jumps. "I am?" he asks. "Honestly, I didn't notice. I mean...you guys are the first people I've really talked to in a long while. I'm used to only having myself to talk to," he chuckles a bit. I'm used to just jumping in, saving someone, and then running for it to the next person or outta there..." he trails off. "Wait..." he pauses. "No, man," he says. "Well... maybe I'm a little worried about that. But not much. I'm doing this because you need it, not because I want anything, and if you told me you didn't want to do anything, I'd be totally okay with that." He grins. "A little disappointed, but okay. If anything... consider my your groupie tonight. You saved my arm, if not my life." He reaches over and rests a hand on Josh's knee.

Josh is quiet a moment, just glancing down at the hand on his knee. "Groupie?" he asks, a little amused. After a moment he takes a breath. "Henry, I know you're not doing anything for me because you want something in return. That's not a superhero thing and from what I've seen, not something you'd do," he says. "To be honest, I've been kinda thinking about this since you took off your mask," he admits. "I'm very okay with doing something tonight...been more worried you wouldn't be."
