Rex is happy to see his girlfriend. Unbeknownst to Hope, Rex had also purchased a chocolate cake for her, because he knew she loved such things.
When she arrives, he smiles and kisses her.
"I see a Goddess came to be worshipped. You came to the right place. Step into the temple." he grins.
Those jokes never got old for him.
