She was still very upset with how it had sounded.
She opens her mouth to try and say something. And it's so bad nothing can actually come out. Her nerves have never felt like this before. She tries to speak again and instead hiccups reflexively and goes a little cross eyed because really is that all she can manage to say?
Oh for crying out loud. She's never been rendered this nervous or upset before.
