Sharkbait! (hoo ha ha)
Cait and Ty returned to San Francisco after their stay in Atlantis and both in tact. Arthur had been true to his word and had been what could only be called nice (for him) to Ty. It had made Cait happy and it went a long way in helping to patch things up between father and daughter. Ty went straight to his workshop when they got back and Cait had an errand to run. She had some good news to deliver.

She sent a message to Ceridan to meet her at the aquarium in San Francisco.

Cait was playing and talking to the sea turtles as she waited. Despite what Iris and her Disney movies said, they did not talk like surfers.

Cerdian enters the aquarium the old-fashioned way, not wanting to A)startle Cait and the dolphins by materializing in the water or B) startle everyone else.

"I have been summoned by Princess Little Fish to listen to her address the people of Atlantis, haven't I?" Cerdian asks, looking down at the sea turtles.

Cait's royal decrees to anyone who would listen were always solemn affairs. It was usually Cerdian's job to take notes when she addressed her subjects.

He is trying not to laugh.

	Cerdian hugs Cait, noting that she's a good mood about having had to go to Atlantis. "You're talking to the people of Atlantis...on purpose? Is your father still pushing the whole marriage thing? Cait chuckled a bit. "The Council," she told him. "They agreed to let us date whomever we want. At least for the next year. They'll take another look at the issue then, but for now we are free." She smiled. "Of course it may have had something to do with the fact that Ty could return Poseidonis to the ocean and was a bit reluctant to help with me being forced to marry someone else. The Council and I came to a compromise and well the rest is history."

"Cait, you are like my sister, but if we were both single right now, I would kiss you like there is no tomorrow." Cerdian says with a big, bright smile.

"Now I can be with Lian without issue. Father will have to stop this crazy plan he has to marry me to some Atlantean woman. I swear, I expected this out of my mom, but she's actually been pretty cool about things...if you overlook her wanting to punch out Lady Donta's daughter for hitting on me." he laughs nervously.

He's hoping she won't do the same to Lian.

"No, he wouldn't...but then he's been on me to see this whole marriage as a good thing." Cerdian says. "Not that marrying you would be bad...but it would have been better in another life.

And I still need to tell my parents about things with Lian anyway. She gave birth to the twins, but their father kidnapped Donna. I'm working to find her now, which is why I've been on the surface so much." he says.

"Agreed. In a world where we didn't grow up together maybe," she said. "I think you have some time on that front. We're sinking Poseidonis this weekend so everyone is busy. We want to get as many repairs as possible done before we return to the ocean."

"If there's anything I can do to help in the search, let me know. Ty and I will gladly assist any way that we can. The Titans too."

"Ty's pretty amazing, but I may be a little biased." Cait grinned. "I think we'll be okay. You have more important things to worry about."

"Oh speaking of Ty, part of the deal with me going to Atlantis on a regular basis is that Arthur has to play nice with Ty. Amazingly enough he was civil, almost pleasant for Arthur, to Ty this past weekend. I felt like I was in another ocean."

	"I got a recommendation from the aquarium in Metropolis when we moved out here, but I could talk to my boss. They'll love having another Atlantean on staff. "There's nothing I wouldn't do for you, either, Cait. Though I will seriously think about it before I go trying to get sharks to pay attention to your royal proclamations again. I do not like nearly being eaten, no matter how badly want to tell them that you will someday be the ruler of the Seven Seas." Cerdian says.

Cait laughed. They could laugh at the memory now, but when it happened they had been almost eaten by sharks. They had been scared witless, but now that they were older it was a fond childhood memory.

She put a head against his shoulder. "I'm amazed that we made it through our childhood in one piece. Life was so much simpler back then. Not that things are bad now, just complicated."

"Back then we didn't have to worry about being told who we could or couldn't love. We never had to worry that things would change someday. It's hard being an adult." Cerdian says.

"But I'm glad we made it. Someday, we'll be the ones telling our kids why they can't do this or that, or why they /have/ to do this or that.

And they'll be telling us not to try to control their lives and such." Cerdian says.

"Of course, I'm telling mine that sharks are evil from day one, and that's that." Cerdian laughs.
