Vertgio had been in the middle of overlooking his correspondences with the military back in his native country when his pager went off. He made a notation and sealed the letter with wax. He'd have it delivered by secure courier to a loyalist who would then code it and transmit it home. Not the easiest system, but it worked.
He suited up and headed for the meeting.
