He made the robots specifically to work against the weaknesses of the team, so anyone expecting cannon fodder should have a nasty surprise coming. The danger of someone who knows the group turning against them.
He's focusing his powers as well - both on preparing for the fight, and keeping control of Cait, having gotten her back in her dress and making her go through the ceremony, while a robot that looks suspiciously like Captain Hook begins officiating.
