Not much Michael could do, he was already holding his breath and was turning the halothane back into the normal combination of oxygen and nitrogen when he's knocked through the air, flying quite a distance before the construct dissipated.
And he was several minutes away. Ample time for Conan to get the kid. Still, Michael has to try. He tears off back in the direction he came from, flying as fast as the Matrix would allow within an atmosphere.
