We meet again
This wasn't really up to her standards when it came to heists. And it wasn't a real heist. It was just that her employer needed her to get some things to trade on the black market for the cold hard cash he needed to get his little war started soon. He wanted to get Gotham back to being so dirty Detroit would look like it was clean. The metaphor was lost on someone like her who had spent much of her life in Europe and the Middle East.

She misses the desert on nights like these. She had thirty minutes until the security came around to check the vault. She had just enough time to get in and out.

In ten minutes she had gotten her prize and was quickly sailing over roof tops and around ally ways tearing like mad away from a successful job. This haul should please her Boss because it yielded a high pay out for them.

And now she senses trouble.

Does she really think he'll just leave? He sighs a little.

Finally, she tumbles out and the chase continues. Except this isn't the fun chase they started the night with, they're both angry and neither is going to give up.

He chases her down, hoping to close the distance with speed and longer strides and try and steer her to the nearby rooftop.

This time she is very very fast. Flips and bends to try and throw him off her trail.

She doesn't want to deal with him. Not when she wants to punch him and tell him to leave well enough alone.

Boys are stupid.

He's having none of that, and he's flipping right after her hot on her trail. He's got her haul, he doesn't have as much reason to chase her down. But right now he doesn't care.

He's going to have to refrain from hurting her, because he's fuming now.

Sometimes girls could be so stubborn.

The problem with going fast like this is the possibility of slipping up and hurting ones self. She doesn't hurt herself but she has to pull herself back up onto a roof.

It gives her two seconds less time on him.

This is when he might get her.

By the time she's pulled herself up onto the roof, he's there too. Attempting to pin her against the door for the roof entrance he lunges after her.

She gets pushed against the door and just squirms. She doesn't like being held like this. But she can tell there is nothing she can do about it either.

He makes sure that he's got a firm grip on her before giving her his darkest bat glare.

"You're going to risk yourself for your employer? You can't be serious."

Her chin gets tilted up because he is so much taller than her and she gives him a defiant look.

"You don't know me or my reasons for doing anything."

"No, I don't. Which is why I'm trying to figure out why a thief like you is doing what no self-respecting freelancer will do. I know you're not stupid."

"Just..... don't." She's looking anywhere but at him. "I have my reasons and I won't share them."

"But you'd risk yourself for some guy who's paying you? He doesn't care what happens to you alright? If it came down to it you'd be the one to take the fall. And yet you're still..."

He's still glaring, hoping to get an answer to what he views as self-destructive behaviour.

"I'm a professional," she says sternly.

No. Not like that. She has to get him to give up.

"It's the same employer. I'm under contract." Give it up Robin.

"No. You're not. A professional wouldn't put the job above themselves like this. They'd know when to break it off." He can tell she's not going to be telling him anything. It just means more detective work.

Same employer? Well at least she's given him something. If all of her thefts are for the same guy he can figure out who it is eventually.

"Intense contract Fox. Find a better employer next time."

"Are you trying to get me to deck you," she challenges hating what he says to her. He doesn't get it.

It doesn't matter though so damn her wounded pride. It's not like she has any left. Her jaw sets firmly and she bites her temper back.

"No, and even if you tried it wouldn't work," he says while tightening his grip on her wrists to make a point.

He's mad but if she's not going to talk there's not much he can do. And he does not want to hand her from the rooftop like he might some street scum. So he swallows some anger before continuing.

"So here's the deal. You tell me something about this guy, anything, and I'll let you go tonight." It worked last time, hopefully it'll work this time too. He really doesn't want to leave her to the police, and he hopes she doesn't make him even try to do that.

Her breath hitches because this is dangerous but then she gets an idea.

"I don't want to connect him to anything.... would you be satisfied with an operation he wants to shut down?" She gives him a serious look. "He doesn't like it when kids get hurt. He hasn't made a move yet though I know he has plans."

"...Fine. Give me the operation he wants gone and you're free." He waits to see what he'll get out of this. Privately he breathes a sigh of relief that she agreed on the compromise, he's not sure what he would have done otherwise.

S she gives him the dirty details about a drug lab. One that was well hidden enough that it had been doing good business. But kids got hurt so her Boss was ordering his boys to do something about it.

She had even gotten some intelligence.

"I have pictures. I can leave an envelope up in the tree with the tigers," she offers. Then pauses and shrugs. "I have my reasons for working for this guy."

In not so many words she says he has principles.

He gives her a grunt of approval (great, he's gotten too Batman-like)before releasing his grip on her. She's given him enough information that he can scope the place out for himself and get enough evidence even if she doesn't hold up her end of the bargain.

"Alright, you're free to go," he takes a step back to give her room and show that he's holding up his end.

"...Don't wake the tigers Foxy."

To be fair they had both pissed each other off way too much tonight. Emotions had run way too high.

She slips away from the door and shoots him a flirty smile.

"Aw, will you be checking on them to tuck them in?"

"No, just to make sure they haven't caught any foxes for a late night snack," he half-smirks at her.

It's certainly been an intense night, he'd let his anger take over too much and now he's trying to get rid of it.

He doesn't say anything but he's clearly thinking it.

3-0 Foxy.
