"Well, Valentines Day is a weird holiday. It was supposed to have been started by a priest named Valentine. At the time, only marriages that were okay'd by the Roman Empire were allowed. Valentine was performing marriages without the consent of the Emperor and was executed. So St Valentine was honored as the saint of love, relationships, and marriage, with the date that was supposedly his execution becoming the date of the holiday."
