Well, this is gonna be awkward
Avia sucked in a deep breath and held it, before letting it out.  Because this was totally her idea and anything that happened tonight was, therefore, entirely her fault.  Up to and including her mother challenging Will to feats of strength to prove his worthiness of her (and her parents wondered why she never stayed with a guy long enough to meet them before).

But since they were going to be moving in together officially very shortly... well, it behooved them to tell their parents.  And then she'd gotten the crazy idea that they could save time and tell both sets at once, and suggested to her parents wouldn't it be nice for them to get to know Will's parents better and...

Yeah.  She was definitely crazy.

She stopped and adjusted the flower in her hair, smoothing out her skirt.  She'd ordered take out from her favorite organic place, forestalling the possibility of her mother's cooking setting the house on fire.  She'd made sure her mother's Mega Rod was upstairs.  Uncle Obie was on a date of his own (wearing that hideous toupee again).  It was going to be fine.  And Will and family would be here any minute.

Fine.

Really.

So why wasn't she downstairs yet.

Mary just knew her son and his really sweet girlfriend wanted them to have a big get together. Dinner with her son was always a treat and she thinks Avia is perfect for her son. Will has come out of his shell more with her in his life.

For whatever ups and downs the relationship had, in the end even Will had to admit it was for the better. Just a year ago and he would have been having a full blown panic attack as opposed to the fretting he was doing now.

Of course, telling your parents you're moving in with your girlfriend is still nerve fraying.

Scott would be the first to admit that he was extremely proud of his daughter. She'd taken the Miracle identity and made it her own, and taken the brand and the concepts of casting off shackles (situational or real) to an entirely new level. And she'd done remarkable work as a member of the League.

And he'd tried his best, over the years, to respect her own choices, especially when it had come to her choices in men (seriously? The boy had been named Spider. What in the name of Apocalypse?!).

But he liked Will. He approved of the boy. He was wholesome, and seemed to be grounding Avia a little.

He met the Freemans at the door. "Mary, Freddy, Will. Good to see you."
