Jon Kent, Warlord of Mars
It was supposed to be a bit of downtime for some of the JLA'ers and family. While deep sea diving, Jon had found an underwater cave... which led to the chamber with all the runes. It was just a curiosity, but he'd spent enough time in space... he knew he'd seen some things like them. He'd only made out a few words with super speed inference and cryptography though before there was a flash of light - and he finds himself in the midst of some sort of pitched airship battle.
The ground below looks an awful lot like the island - except where there was sandy beaches and forest, now there's a rock island with crystal formations surrounded by a massive sea of red dust.
