Meme: "Finger-Trap"
Max was carefully working on a concept for one of the defenses he was hired to create for the New Guardians' headquarters. He had a prototype set up, but it was a far cry from what he had been trying to make. Still, it was interesting enough not to discard completely. So he set it aside on the lab table while he worked on the next version.

About eighty percent of Riley's demeanor and body language have shifted from his usual vapid and happy-go-lucky irreverence. The contrast should be shocking to just about anyone but Dinah.

	Max was annoyed, angry, and frankly pissed off. Still, he bit his lip, more out of preservation than anything. Riley looks at his ring, furrows his brow, then smacks a palm to his forehead. "Duh... hello Riley." He mutters under his breath. "Dinah, I'll see you at the restaurant as planned. Talk to you later." He ends the transmission.

"Time to stop thinking like Goldstar and start thinking like a Time Master.

Max... I'm going to trust you to keep a secret, and then we're going to lay low anywhere you want for as long as it takes for the ring to run out of power. Deal?"

	Max maintained a stoic look at the news of Riley's intended proposal, if anything it annoyed him even further. Max pointedly refused to keep thinking on why and tried to focus on the present. Riley blinks, then shakes his head. "Okay... maybe I didn't make it clear before.

You and me lie low for a couple days and wait this thing out. Once we're free, I travel back in time to this evening, so I can still make my date with Dinah." He looks at the clock. "Logistically speaking, me from three days in the future is in this same point in time right now, just somewhere else, about to meet with Dinah."
