Difference of opinion (meme Thomas.)
Damian had done something completely foolish. The problem is he hadn't seen it that way. He and Thomas had been on patrol together. They were beginning to work well together. The big problem is that Damian had leaped before he looked in the last fight they had been in.

He had nearly been hurt. He wasn't and saw no problem with what had happened.

Foolish was an understatement. He hated that AltDad made him patrol with Damian, the kid was a nightmare to deal with and this was just the last straw. He could've been seriously hurt, and the squirt was his responsibility as long as they were on patrol together.

"I don't worry too much, you're being reckless, idiotic and a brat. Do you know what kind of damage you'd have taken if I hadn't pulled your ungrateful fat out of the fryer? The hell were you thinking?! I told you. We're out on patrol together you have to listen to what I say. What was so damn hard about that? You could've been seriously hurt!"

Argh, and this kid was supposed to be intelligent. Instead he was just an arrogant brat who thought he knew everything. Why oh why did he get stuck with this kid? Alternate dimension half-brothers were the worst.

Thomas being mad is something he is used to. He is convinced they won't get along ever but it doesn't matter. He is just going to be satisfied if they can work together.

Looks like that isn't going to happen.

"You would have done the same thing! Don't tell me you wouldn't have risked it!"

Thomas wonders if he was ever so self righteously reckless at that age. A bit on the reckless side yes but this much of a brat about it? Ugh.

Thomas steps towards Damian, his voice lowering to a growl. "He put you to patrol with me for a reason. You need to listen or you're going to get us both hurt, or even killed."

It doesn't sound as if he is agreeing. "If we hadn't moved that woman could have been hurt. She's safe."

He takes in a deep breath. "I will do better next time."

And Thomas can shove it. He hates being treated like a kid.

That was most certainly not an agreement.

"No, if I hadn't pulled you both out of there you both would've been hurt. You're not listening to my instructions. I can't have you in the field with me if you keep doing that and I will tell him so." This kid was making him sound like Bruce. He hated this.

He gives Damian a long look at the 'will do better'. He wants to believe this but isn't sure. Maybe Maria could take him instead, he seemed to like her better for some reason.

He actually is sorry. He knows Thomas doesn't believe him. How could he?

"I am sorry. I reacted like you were T. Not like you're you. I've always had a hard time staying still in... specific situations." A look of embaressment crosses his face.

"I'll work on it, I swear."

"Then you have to be willing to learn not to jump in. I'm not going on patrol with you if you won't, and I doubt Maria will be too pleased to be saddled with you. Add in that the Boss won't let you go out on your own for patrols yet...keep this up and you won't be doing any Gotham patrols." A dire enough thing for most of the bat family.

"We'll see if you do," he nodded, wanting proof by action rather than words. Only time will tell for that.
