A couple arrows fly once he buys himself some space. Between the magic and the ridiculous pull of the bow, the arrows punch right through metal into circuitry below.
As soon as he runs out of room, the bow goes back away, and he's joining back in the slugfest, helping hold one flank while the others work on plans.
