Green + Green + Blue = Space pirates?
".. No, seriously. He knows who you are." says Avalon as he and Henry fly along the coast of California, doing their usual maneuvers and training.

"He's really cool though, I think that you're going to like him.. you might even know him - he acted like he knew you." he then goes on to say, "He picked up on who you were when I introduced myself - guess the name Jordan really gets around more than I realized.." he then teases a bit, glancing over to his partner as he smirks.

"Then again, you know so many people that I can't keep up sometimes!"

Avalon's anxiety seems to pass when Henry explains to him what he's missing. After a few moments, he's grinning and totally relaxed, the whole thing having rolled off him like water off a duck's back.

Spreading his wings a bit, he sighs as he listens to the story, his smile happy for Alex. "Only a year of training? I don't know what's worse - that taking so long, or having to go on a Hunt."

	Alex nods. "Yeah, just a year. Wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing with the ring," he explains. "I got your number on my cellphone, Henry. "It's.. ah.. a bit complicated." replies Avalon with a bit of a laugh. "And it's not something I'm wholly sure that I'm even ready for - my own father just keeps trying to get me to do it. But on Starhaven, you have a rite of passage that's called the Great Hunt.. In the simplest of terms, you go off into the wilderness and slay the largest predator in Starhaven's skies."

"This rite is the most important, Henry. The last time I spoke with him, he wanted you and Lifeforce to take it with me." replies Avalon. He then glances to Alex and says "A giant winged flying reptile called Feartail. They have a wingspan of about thirty Earth feet, and bring death from above."

He spirals out to one side, then grins as he says "Indigo and Lifeforce are great people, too bad they're not here for you to meet them.."

Avalon was just about to reply, when blazing in a big ball of fire comes heading straight for Earth via the asteroid belt. It appears to be a ship being chased by another ship. The first appears to be just a standard merchant class, seen in this sector. The second though belongs to a rather nasty band of space pirates that can't quite seem to get the idea that Sector 2814 is off limits!

"You guys see that? So much for training - looks like we got a mission." says Avalon as he takes off towards the merchant ship.

	"Blue, you handle the merchant ship. Alex, want to help me take down a dumb group of pirates?" Henry peels off from their course and heads towards the aggressive pirate vessel. He sends several green energy blasts across the bow of the vessel, warning them off further pursuit. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The merchants are rather easy for Avalon to deal with. He Flies in, using his speed to get to them before the Greens blasts even do. He then goes to form a force shield around himself and the ship, using his Hope to try and deflect any more fire from the pirates. The merchant ship is in bad shape, though.

The pirates weren't expecting Green Lanterns! They veer off from the merchant, sending their attention to Henry and Alex. They fire off another volley of laser blasts, aimed at the two Greens.

	Henry dodges the blasts and returns fire. "Oooh, you're making things worse for yourself," he tells them, blasting for the cannons, trying to take out their offensive capabilities. "Last chance to stand down." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The pirates aim their blasters at Henry and Alex... and then seem to be considering their options. They then start to charge up their blasters; they decided on might! Avalon meanwhile is trying to get the merchant ship into a more maneuverable position; he watches in horror as the pirate ship fires full blasters on the two Lanterns. He shouldn't worry. Like these blasters could hurt a Green Lantern supercharged by the presence of a Blue. Henry even gives Alex some extra shielding.

"Alright, you asked for it," Henry replies. "Alex, you get the weapons. I'll get the propulsion systems. Let's leave them dead in the water here." Henry fires blasts at the engine, hoping to fry every circuit in the engine block without causing any actual harm to the people inside. They might have captives, after all.

	Alex quirks an eyebrow at the extra shielding and shrugs. "You got it," he replies. As Henry shoots off at the engines, Alex heads for the blasters. Concentrating, he sends blasts of green lightning out with the same intent of shorting the weapons systems out. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

As Avalon brings the merchant ship around and then strengthen his shields just in case, Alex and Henry blast into the pirates with deadly precision. All at once, the pirates come to a halt in the middle of space, everything but their lights going dark.

Avalon makes sure that the merchant ship is fine, and then makes his way over towards the other boys, his expression still serious. They've not apprehended the pirates yet.

"Sometimes I wish that Earth wasn't so far out." he says, "We get more outlaws than I'm used to - I swear!"
