Workout time
Her hair gotten up, Cindy followed to the JSA's workout room. And tried to calm herself down.

She was normally a very private person about That Sort of Thing. There never seemed any point in mentioning her preferences to people because she didn't expect to be dating for a long, long time. Maybe after she'd had time to really establish herself. Market herself. Really showcase her brains and capabilities. Maybe then someone would want her.

Today had blindsided her. But she wasn't complaining.

And besides it was good to get started on the training right out. She had a lot to learn.

Cindy tried to make herself stop staring at the wings.

"Okay. Most of it is predicated on somebody else trying something first. Like how to get away from being grabbed, mostly. In general, it was really basic, I Mean -- oh. Sorry, You said show." So Cindy stepped forward and threw a punch in a generally upwardish direction towards the taller girl. There is nothing horrifically stupid about the way she does it, not positioned in a way that would normally break one's hand, etc., but it is merely Not Very Good. Even if it connected, it wouldn't be very effective.

Nic let Cindy punch her. And...Nic didn't move. She didn't flinch, budge, or so much as wing-flutter. It was as if she hadn't been struck at all.

"I see," she mused and for a moment watched Cindy's face. Then she moved, suddenly, grabbing Cindy's wrist and twisting the girl's arm up and around her neck in something of a modified sleeper hold. She squeezed a bit, pulling the other girl very close to her, so close Nic's lips were at her ear.

"If I were actually fighting you, I could make this hurt a terrible lot before you passed out. You have no confidence to your punches. You need to come at me like you truly believe you can knock me down cold."

One is supposed to bring up one's free hand when someone's starting to do this to one. Cindy knows that, but she can't manage to get her thoughts and reflexes in order enough to do it, considering how fast Nic is.

She does manage to bite her tongue on saying to please stop.

She doesn't manage to do anything you're supposed to do when in a hold, either.
Nic's explaining. Right into her ear. And Cindy makes an affirming noise.

	Another earnestly affirming noise from Cindy, and her hand comes up again. Except it doesn't seem likely that that's going to progress to escalate things that quickly. 	"OW! Why you little..." The winged girl grunts and grabs Cindy by the waist, tossing her to the ground and straddling her. With wings full span again, she brings up her arm into a striking position while her free hand pins Cindy's arm to the mat. "That's a good move. Now get out of this one." 	It takes Cindy a second to catch her breath. A couple, actually. Then she pushes with her one free hand to turn herself towards the arm Nic has pinned while trying to get her feet angled enough to turn and shift at the waist, hoping to shake her off. Well, mostly hoping. On the rational I'm-supposed-to-be-learning-and-showing-I-can-learn-so-it's-impressive level. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She didn't shake Nic off exactly. Instead, Nic rolled and ended up pinning Cindy again. "C'mon. You can get out out of this. Rolling the person off of you isn't the only option. And it's usually the least useful option, actually." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The pinned arm squirms inward just a little bit before she tries to half-sit up as much as possible, and her hand shoots up towards the general vicinity of Nic's throat, her legs still trying again to get her feet flat enough to move her hips or her knees up. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"You could headbutt me." Nic finally offers Cindy the solution she'd hoped she'd get on her own. Cindy was going to require a lot of work--which was kinda good as far as Nic could tell. "That's okay. You'll start remembering things as we go along. It's amazing what beating each other up for fun can do for your memory." Nic pushed up for a moment and paused with her nose right to Cindy's, looking at her for a moment before getting up. She stretched out, wings and all, like some sort of vicious angel.

"Next time, I'm going to attack you first and you're going to defend but that will wait. I'm....afraid you've got a bruise going on your arm."
