"The first thing you need to do is stop hating yourself," Lian says bluntly. "Don't worry about the past, and don't worry about what happens later. If you start doubting yourself, think of the happiest memory you have of your dad and then fight for that."
Lian turns to look at the group around her. They've already shown a willingness and an ability to work together, but they need to know what they're facing.
"The other thing I need is for all of you to say, out loud, that you want to do this. Because once we start, there are only two outcomes. Either we free our parents and win, or every one of us and our parents die down there."
Lian steps into the center of the group, holding her hand out palm-down, and looks around at them.
"I know we can do this. Who's with me?"
