"I...okay. We'll give it a try. If it doesn't work out or I don't fit in, I'll look for something else. Deal?" Dealing with Bruce was easier if you at least gave his way a try and offered an alternative if it didn't work out.
Most people found Bruce to be inflexible and stubborn, but if one worked with him instead of against him life was easier and less stressful.
