The sandpocalypse is nigh!
Who: Everyone!
When: Friday July 8th
Where: South Beach, Miami
What: Cinna throws the first beach bash of the summer!
Rating: Xenu only knows.
School had been out barely a day before Cinna sent out a mass email inviting everyone ever to come hang out. She figured after Independence Day people would probably be sick of their families already, so proposed the weekend after that: a beach party on Friday and if anyone wanted to stay for the rest of the weekend they were more than welcome.
Friday couldn't come quickly enough. Part of the beach had been blocked off for them very early in the day, and Cinna's parents had very thoughtfully hired some entertainment-- a series of beach vans, one with ice creams and slushies, another with food, a third with a bar and an attendant paid to look the other way, and a little DJ booth on wheels.
The sky was endlessly blue, not a cloud in sight to spoil the day ahead, and the beach was clear and ready for the shenanigans to begin.

Cinna/Open
Confident that everything was set to make for a perfect day, she spread out her towel midway between the vans and the shore where she'd be sure to get a good view of everything and everyone, and flopped over in the sand to wait for her friends to start arriving.
Cinna/Leland
He strolled along the beach, pushing his sunglasses up higher on his face and grinning when he came across one of the only other people on the beach. "Lookin' hot, I've never seen an over sized scarf used as a dress but I can dig it Cin," he smirked, plopping down in the sand.
It had been a long time since he had been at a beach where the sand was actually warm enough to burn his feet a little.
Cinna/Leland
Cinna/Leland
He flicked a little sand at her toes. "I see you've pulled out all the stops for this one, huh?" he grinned. "Too bad there hasn't been a wet t-shirt contest yet but... the day is still young."
Riley/Open
He tried to look as disinterested as possible in the party starting up around him, taking his pink fruity drink from the refreshments van and promptly spilling half of it onto someone as he looked for a shady vantage point.
Riley/Abby
She pursed her lips at him. "I didn't bring my wand. Got a cleaning spell you can zap me with?" As soon as she was done with school for the summer her wand went into a pocket in the lid of her trunk and she was digging it out for anything. That and her bathing suit didn't have pockets.
He left it at that though, forgoing the usual rant because it was Abernathy and it would get neither of them any closer to the end of the conversation (or even at any point within a conversation). He fished around in his satchel to find his wand at the bottom, and pointed it at Abby's chest obligingly. "Um. Evanesco." He hesitated before casting, as there was the slightest chance he'd vanish her top instead of the drink. Odds were that she was wearing a bathing suit underneath, but greater still that she'd kill him anyway.
Her shirt disappeared and she was left with the top half of her bathing suit exposed. She frowned at Riley only because the shirt was relatively new. "Well there goes that," she said almost in good humor.
He looked back over his shoulder at the drinks van and the line starting up. "So I guess I like, owe you a drink or some shit now?"
Thorn/Open
He flopped his towel down into the sand and set down his cooler of beers (that was magicked so that anyone over the age of 21 would see an interior filled with soda). He cracked another one open and continued on his debauched afternoon like a man on a mission.
He wanted to find someone to get wet with, even if that meant throwing himself into the ocean.
Thorn/November
She got a drink from one of the vans and started to meander out toward the water. She thought she might dip her feet in when she caught sight of one of her favorite blondes laid out on his own towel. She skipped over to Thorny and plunked down in the sand next to him. "Hey!" she said a little more enthusiastically than usual. "Have you been in yet?" she asked in reference to the water.
All he had to do was peel off his shirt and flops. The aviators stayed on no matter where he was. He'd already cast a charm that would prevent them from getting knocked off his face by any crashing waves or wild dancing.
Maddy/Arnaud/Open
She grinned at him. If anyone else was digging her slighty anachronistic apparel they hadn't said as much so far. "Love your shades."
He slipped his arm through hers. "What do you say we meander to the bar? God, I'd love to live Cinnamyn Thompson's fabulous life."
Maddy laughed. "You couldn't pull off her wardrobe." She tucked her hand comfortably around his forearm and wandered with him toward the drinks.
"I'd try real damn hard," he replied and ordered a drink.
Maddy/Arnaud/Adelaide
"I bet her mom would adopt you," she teased. Mrs Thompson was not quite known for her ability to keep her hands off schoolboys. She might be a little disappointed that Arnaud didn't quite find her so appealing, but she'd probably get over it if he offered to be a live-in beautician.
Maddy poked Arnaud as he passed her his drink and ordered another of the same. "She's not Angelina Jolie," she pointed out.
Arnaud snorted at that, but was pleased and amused to see Maddy making an almost current joke. "Even if she doesn't take me in I can do her hair all fierce. Lord knows these celebrities just don't get it."
She laughed at Maddy's assessment. "No, she's definitely not Angelina," she agreed. "I think she thinks she is, though," she added, thinking of some pictures that had recently done the rounds, and Cinna's rant about 'duck lips' and 'trout pout' and the epic tantrum she'd had about how from even half a country away, her mother still managed to embarrass her.
Veronica/Open
She was actually quite enjoying just sitting back and watching everyone else get intoxicated and ridiculous when someone kicked sand on her. "Hey!" she said irritated, frowning up at the offender.
Addy/Luka
She'd spent some time hanging out around the drinks van and talking to people she knew, but soon enough wandered out towards the ocean, dumping herself onto her towel not far from the shore. She peeled off her jacket and bunched it under her head while she shot off a text.
How many drunk kids do u think the lifegaurds are gonna pull out today??
He peered around the beach to find, but his view was blocked by the crowd of teenagers starting to stumble around the drinks van. Cinna had gone all out for this party.
Now I know I'd see the hottest girl here if she were in plain sight. Where are you hiding?
Ha ha. im buy the water, rainbow towel
She was on the towel, but it was still very visible. As was her bright yellow dress.
Surounded by hoards of admirers, obvs.
He cleared the crowd near the vans and headed out toward the ocean. He spotted her almost immediately in the small sea of towels that had been laid out by the party goers before the drinking began.
He waved and did a very graceful Baywatch run across the sand, plunking down beside her with two drinks. "For the lady," he offered and set up the business of unrolling his own towel next to hers. "Sunbathing in a sundress. Isn't that a bit redundant?"
She squealed as she crashed into the water; the sudden change of hot grainy sand under her feet giving way to cool water enveloping her and slowing her movements. "I love the beach!" She yelled. The woods of Dresden weren't without their charms, but nothing beat sand and surf. "Come on bitch, dive in!"
