are we still doing discussion posts?

i mean, it doesn't matter, i just need some advice.
what do you girls do when you are feeling insecure?

i'm going to a dance at my boyfriend's church tomorrow. it's the first time he's ever really seen me dressed up, and i just want his jaw to drop. problem is, i only found out we were going a couple of days ago. so, i have to wear an old dress. i went out and got some new shoes today, which i really love, but they don't go with the dress. i was just like UHGGG i don't want to have to return them, but they just don't work. oh and they were only $15 :[.

sorry, bad picture

the shoes are KIND OF like this:

but they're a deep red/purple
they have two straps instead of one
and they are plain patent leather, no embellishment

part of me wants to go out and find a cute plain black dress or something
but the more practical side is saying to just go out and get some plain black pumps
i don't need to be spending much money, at all.

i've been getting so upset over the pettiest little things recently. i feel like my period is just around the corner, but according to mr. bc, it shouldn't be. so idk why i'm so emotional. :/

that whole rant wasn't even the main point

i'm more insecure about my body than my outfit. my skin is really broken out, even on my chest. wtf, this never happens, but of course it has to happen NOW. my dress has a really deep Vneck, obviously.
i also have some brand new scars on my leg
i would just cover this stuff up with makeup, but i'm so pale that it will just look like little orange spots

andddd, i want to curl my hair really badly, but i suck at it
i'm not even sure if my hair is capable of curling or if i will have a curling iron available

i'm sure i will get over it
but i'm stressing out over this stupid shit
i always care way too much. wtf @ me.

I wouldn't stress over it too much, it'll just make you break out more. I'd say go to the mall and see if you can find an inexpensive black dress and if you can't, just grab some shoes.

Girl, I know exactly how you feel. My boyfriends company Christmas party is tomorrow and I'm in the same boat. I've been in one of those "I hate everything about myself" ruts lately and I can't seem to snap out of it.

I love that dress, but it'll be worth the money to buy something that you'll feel more comfortable in. I don't know about you, but new clothes do wonders for my self-esteem.

Also, your hair looks amazing straight! I understand that you want to do something different because it's a special occasion, but honestly if curling it doesn't work I wouldn't worry about it. You're going to look hot no matter what, and if your boyfriend has never seen you dressed up he's going to be in for a real treat!

i bet you can find a super cute black dress at forever 21 for $20 actually i'm positive you can and if it'd make you feel better i'd say its a good idea.

I think that dress is absolutely GORGEOUS!
I'd keep the shoes anyway lol, they were only $15 and I'm almost positive you will be able to find something to go with them in the near future.
I LOVE TJMAXX more than life itself, but sometimes finding a dress there (at least at the one around here) is like finding a needle in a haystack. I would look at their shoes becuase sometimes they have really cute dressy shoes that are inexpensive. There or if you have a payless or Marshalls by you as well. If you do go to Forever 21, I bet 9/10 they have these: http://www.forever21.com/images/large/44856277-01.jpg. $12.50 and they're pretty comfortable (only saying pretty becuase I can't walk/stand/function in high heels to save my life), but they are better than most that I've ever worn.
Clearasil Ultra also does WONDERS for random breakouts. They promise clearer skin in three days, and for the most part it lives up to it's promise. I may not be completely gone, but it reduces the size and redness fantastically.
My curls never really stay in either when I do it because my hair is so heavy, so I've moved on to the loose curls/waves. What helps a lot is if I blow my hair out or let it airdry and then spin it into a low bun and wrap an elastic around it. Put a few spritzes (sp?) of hair spray in and let it sit for awhile while you heat up the curling iron. I think loose wavy curls would look fanstastic on you, but if you're looking for like mega curls you could use a smaller barrel and curl farther up your head. I usually use the biggest barrel I have and I curl the ends midway up my head. For extra hold you can spray the section you're curling with hairspray while it's on the iron. Also, curl every other piece in the opposite direction of the one before it (like one piece towards your chin, the other away from your chin) it gives it so much more body and they don't all clump together since they're going opposite ways. I got a three pack of curling irons at Walmart for I think $11.99, so if you've got one close to you and don't think you'll have a curling iron I'd try there, it's seriously one of the best investments I've ever made haha.

I hope I helped at least a little becuase I think you're stunning, but I know what if feels like to be in a rut with yourself like this. You're going to wow him no matter what! Goodluck and have fun :)

aw man, i hate days like that when everything seems to be falling apart. from an analytical, outside perspective i can honestly say that there's not possible way you can be disfigured by an unmatching dress or slight break out--you're ridiculously good looking.

that said, if i were in your shoes i'd buy a cheap, cute black dress. you can never have too many black dresses and if you look in the right places they can be acquired for cheap!

almost everyday for me lately is the kind of "i hate everything about myself" mood. my hair is growing out, i feel like i'm gaining weight, and just nothing about my physical self is going very well, so i completely know what you mean.

i'm sure if you go to tjmax you can find a cute black pair of pumps, i can almost guarantee it. but if you go to wet seal, there will definitely be a nice dress to go with those cute shoes! and with the holiday season, many many sales.

If you're that worried about the money aspect, you could buy a really hot dress and then return it after the dance. I've done that numerous times when I shouldn't be spending money but need a little materialistic "pick me up" because clothes make everyone feel better, haha.

Like everyone else has said, you are fucking perfect. Even if you've got a few breakouts and your hair won't curl!

Prettiest prettiest. :)
