Chemistry was one of Thoreau's best classes. It was a lot like cooking. You followed a recipe and paid attention to all the intricate little steps and in the end you got exactly what you wanted from it. Plus, he was pretty good at math too so that never threw him off. The only thing that was a problem now was that he and Pansy had been lab partners since they'd started dating. They'd been having lecture classes up until today and it hadn't mattered, but Snape wasn't the sort of professor who let you switch partners because of a break up.

He sighed as he sat next to Pansy, trying not to think about her screwing his best friend. "Hey," he said. "You're here."

Macnair? Thoreau's head jerked up and he stared at the man who was really obviously Radley and Rooney's father. They both had his size and his looks. "I -- uh -- hello, Mister Macnair," he said, glancing down at Pansy.

Walden nodded to the teenagers, examining Rabastan's son for a moment. "He looks like you," he told Rabastan. "Bit bigger than you were when you were his age, though."

"I wasn't that small." Rabastan frowned at Walden and then looked at Thoreau. "Walden was my best friend when I was younger. Even if him and his brother were mean to me every chance they got."

Pansy looked up at the man for a moment, then frowned. "You look really familiar. I can't place you."

Thoreau cleared his throat. "Macnair," he said. "Do you have a son? We had a history supply teacher named Professor Macnair last week. He was really big too."

Walden raised an eyebrow at that. "That's Rooney," he said. "He's the smart one, but I always liked Radley better. They're twins. I think they'd my own kids." He looked at Rabastan. "Weldon was a bigger dick than I was."

"Weldon was a bigger dick. And Radley is the nicer twin." Rabastan nodded, looking at his son. "Radley is the one I called for you so you could get the massage. I'm sure it helped."

Pansy looked at Thoreau, arching a brow. "It helped him more than you can imagine."

Thoreau swatted Pansy's hip lightly. "It did help," he agreed. "I wondered how you knew which masseuse to call so readily. How's the stew coming, Dad?"

Walden shook his head. "I don't understand why Radley does that," he said. "He could have gone into the family business with me or been a professional fighter. I taught them both to box. Instead he rubs naked people for a living. At least if he was a whore he'd get something out of it."

"Oh. I'm sure he gets plenty out of it." Pansy informed Walden and looked him over. "Anyway, you shouldn't worry about your son. At least he gets to look at naked people and get paid for it."

Rabastan laughed softly at that and shook his head. "Radley has a wonderful job. At least he won't be losing brain cells boxing like you."

"He would have been great in the ring," Walden said, shaking his head. "He's got the size and the speed. Rooney too, although Rooney was always more interested in reading and other bullshit like that. Of course, he's the one who insists on broadcasting his gayness to the world every chance he gets too. At least Radley fucks girls too."

Thoreau was doing his best not to look like someone who'd been fucked by bother of Walden's sons, once by both at the same time. "All that really matters is that they're happy, right?"

Rabastan looked at his son for a moment, then laughed. "Walden doesn't care about their happiness. He cares about how they look to the world. It's the same reason that I married your mother." He told him, shrugging.

Pansy frowned for a moment. "You being gay runs in your family. How do you feel about that?"

Thoreau blinked. He wouldn't have taken it that way, but Pansy was right. "Weird," he said, after a moment. "But I guess I kind of sprung me coming out on him too. Except he knew already."

Walden raised an eyebrow. "Your son didn't know you were queer?" He looked down at Rabastan and snorted. "Everyone knew in school. Arielle married you anyway."

Rabastan laughed at that and shrugged. "And yet, know one ever knew that you were dating me." He pointed out and shook his head. "Crazy how those things work, right?"

Pansy chewed at her bottom lip. "Maybe we should go out and get something to eat."
