Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

Thoreau figured what everyone needed, after Blaise coming back and everyone freaking out over it, was a distraction. So he was having a party because he and Theo were friends again and could get all the booze and drugs they needed to throw a really good one. Blaise would probably crash it eventually, but nobody had invited him and Thoreau was pretty sure him appearing in public with his boyfriend and basically coming out to everyone who wasn't one of his close friends was going to be enough of a distraction to keep Blaise from stealing the spot light.

He sat on the couch beside Pansy and Theo, reaching out and touching Pansy's hair automatically, because she'd been his girlfriend for a long time and they were best friends and he was gay now, so it was okay for him to still touch her. "I'm glad you're going to get to meet Radley tonight. Neville and Daphne should be here soon. Is Draco coming?"

"Draco should stay home," Theo said, shaking his head. "All anyone will talk to him about tonight is Blaise, and you know Blaise is going to crash the party."

"People don't get snippy enough with him, and if I do it then my girlfriend gets mad at me because he's her best friend," Theodore said, smirking. "She invited his boyfriend to the party tonight. I'm not sure it'll go well."

Draco sighed, pouring himself a glass of whiskey. "I'm sure he was," he said. "I didn't know he was Thoreau's boyfriend. At least I can try and forget about everything tonight. At least until Blaise shows up."

"Well, you're six," Thoreau pointed out. "You're not really expected to be interested in people yet." He frowned a little when Joey told him Radley cried a lot. "Do you know why?" he asked. "I really like him, Joey. I don't want to make him cry. I want to make him happy."

"I'm not sure me being here and Thoreau coming out is going to go over well either." Radley admitted with a shrug. "But, that's not a big issue. Gossip Girl will find something to post even if we don't give her something."

"I told the man watching the door to not let him in if he shows." Pansy admitted with a defeated sigh. "But, that doesn't mean he won't find some way in. He'll just pay the doorman off, I'm sure."

Joey shrugged. "Because my Daddy takes all the boys he likes. That's what he told me." She admitted. "He says Daddy doesn't let him keep his friends."

"I think Thoreau is trying to do his friends a favour," Theo told Radley. "Pansy and Draco have both gotten into trouble and been gossip fodder lately. Thoreau wants to distract them. Otherwise I'm sure he'd be more subtle about introducing you to us. He must feel confident in you if he's willing to put you through Gossip Girl."

"Probably," Draco agreed, making a face and sipping from his glass. "It could be worse. At least Charlie's not coming too. I can't imagine the kinds of things Blaise would say to him."

Thoreau didn't want to tell a six year old her daddy didn't sound very nice, so he settled for nodding. He liked Rooney, but if he really did make Radley cry a lot, Thoreau was going to have to reevaluate his opinion. "That would make me cry too," he said. "I like Radley a lot. I want to make him happy. I don't think your daddy will try and take me. Radley is safe with me."

"I'm not too concerned about a vengeful teenage girl with a laptop." Radley shrugged, looking Theodore over. "It's not a problem. I should probably find Thoreau. I left him with my niece. Which wasn't very nice of me."

Pansy gave Draco a guilty look. "Well. I mean... I sent him an invite...I'msosorryDracodon'thateme."

"Don't make him cry." Joey gave him a very serious look, shaking her head. "Don't make him cry. Because he likes you. He smiled when he said your name. Don't fuck that up." She got up from the table. "And have candy next time."

"Kitchen is down the hall, to the right," Theodore said, pointing. "Don't worry about it. If Thoreau got to make food for someone, then he's happy."

Draco stared at Pansy for a moment, then knocked back his drink and poured himself another one. "Fuck," he said. "I was trying to keep the person who knows every horrible thing I've done intimately and my boyfriend apart, but I guess this is happening now. Maybe Charlie will punch him for me."

Thoreau laughed at Joey, reaching up to cross his heart. "I promise I will," he said. "Scout's honour. Should we go find Radley?"

Charlie opened the door and stepped into Thoreau's house, glancing around. He saw Theodore, the one Pansy talked about all the time, then Pansy and Draco over at the bar. He smiled and stepped over to them, wrapping his arms around him. "Hey."

Pansy gave Charlie a weak smile. "Hello, Charles. Look, Draco. You're wonderful, loving boyfriend is here. Isn't that great?"

"Looking for me?" Radley asked, smiling in the doorway. "Did she raid you out of house and home for food? Thanks for feeding her."

Draco frowned at Pansy as he leaned against Charlie. "Yes," he said, finishing off his second drink. "So wonderful." He sighed and then looked up at Charlie, kissing him softly. "Pansy and I were just discussing the fact that Blaise is likely to show up tonight."

Theodore walked over to the bar, watching Draco pour himself another drink. "Thoreau's boyfriend when to get Thoreau and the kid out of the kitchen," he said, wrapping an arm around Pansy's waist.

Thoreau looked back at Radley and smiled. "Yeah, she said she was hungry so I made her a sandwich to go with the biscuits." He walked over to Radley and leaned up, kissing him for a long moment. "Don't worry about it. You know I like making food for people. Next time I need to have candy, though."

Charlie tensed at that, but shrugged it off. "That's fine. I'm here. You don't have to mess with him." He told him, pressing their lips together. He glanced around as some more people came into the house. "I missed you."

"Okay. It looks like more people are here now." Pansy kissed Theodore softly on the lips. "Could you make sure there are enough crisps?"

"She is very adamant about having sweets." Radley wrapped an arm around Thoreau's waist and pulled him close. "Rooney should be getting here. He sent me a text."
