Hello, Pretty Lady
Who: Sakon, Sakura, Ukon
When: July 21, evening
Where: HanaHana Sushi restaurant
What: The twins happen across a lady Ukon is sure he knows, if only because of the color of her hair
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for languages

Sometimes, when Sakon was too lazy to cook and Ukon just didn't feel like it, the twins went out to eat. Tonight was Sakon's night to choose the place to go, as they switched off every-other-meal and he chose a sushi restaurant. He was craving the stuff for some strange reason so off they went to the restaurant. Sakon drove, the music blasting from the radio that nearly knocked his elder brother's ears out of his head. Ukon hated his brother's loud music, the headache inducing sounds that caused the car itself to quake. It was not necessary at all.

So Ukon was glad to get out of the car upon arrival. Sakon dropped him off at the entrance to get a table while he pulled around to park. It was a small place and he didn't want to risk that cluster of people walking up the sidewalk taking the few tables left. Ukon managed to grab a four-person table by the window; it was all that was left open. He ordered a water for himself and a cola for Sakon from the bar across the room before sitting down.

When his brother arrived, the two looked at one another before finding somewhere else in the room to stare at. At least Sakon could be quiet for the time being. But, oh, he saw a waitress across the room with dyed hair and smirked. "Look," he said in a hushed voice, causing his twin to turn his head. "That chick thinks she's so fuckin' hot, coloring her hair. Looks like shit, really. Or she craves attention. I'm willing to bet on it."

Blinking languidly, Ukon looked over the female before raising a brow. "Willing to bet dinner?" he asked. "'cause here she comes."

Tuesday night shifts sucked, big time. Because it wasn't Monday, but it wasn't Wednesday either, when they didn't have as much clientelle as usual, and she wouldn't have to stay in late. But Tuesday nights sucked, just like Douglas Adams would've said.

As she walked to the table of the new patrons, she noticed the looks she was getting from them both. How familiar. She bet herself it was an issue related to her hair, again. Tuesdays sucked ass.

"Welcome to HanaHana," she said, smiled and bowed. "What can I get you?"

Leaning forward on his elbows, preparing himself to speak, Sakon let a smile slip onto his face. What did he wanted, anyway? Glancing down at the menu below his elbows he ordered the first thing he saw that looked good. An easy item to order, too, and they seemed tasty.

"The tuna," he mused at her. "You know you got really nice hair?" he offered, waving a hand at it. If it were alright, he would have reached out, but he knew if she didn't bat his hand away Ukon would have done it for her. "You make the color yourself? It's...unique."

Grinning, Sakon tilted his head before looking at her face instead of the pink tresses framing it. "You have alright eyes. Good color, too. Works with the pink."

Ukon could only roll his pale gray eyes and shake his head. A hand came out and put itself over Sakon's mouth to stop him from speaking anymore. "He needs a muzzle, excuse him." Shaking his head yet again, the darker haired of the two sighed.

"I'll have the same, thanks." Glancing at her collar, he couldn't find a name tag. Maybe it had fallen off. "May I get your name, miss?"

Sakon was so going to be paying for dinner, Ukon had a good feeling about it.

Sakura forced herself not to roll her eyes. Typical. Her boss had told her how to deal with this sort of people. Take the order, smile and leave.

"That's two tuna rolls, then," she said, noting it down, then spared the snarky one a glance. "They're both natural colours, thank you." And then smiles at the more polite one. "Sakura."

Sakon looked burned, sneering at their waiter before looking in another direction. Natural hair color his ass. She just wanted attention, that was all. But his eyes narrowed on Ukon as he lifted a hand in greeting at Sakura.

"It's good to meet you," he said with a thin smile on his pale face. If Sakon's hair wasn't dyed blond and Ukon wasn't so sickly they really would have looked more alike. They were identical twins, after all. "I'm Ukon. This is...Sakon."

Swallowing a sip of his cola, the younger of the two looked up with a grin. "Poptart!"

Her eyes narrowed at Sakon, clearly a hint that if he were to say that again, her notebook would be stuffed into his mouth.

Though she did smile slightly in recognition. "You were replying to my post just today, right? Small world we live in, ahah," she laughed, but did not take the hand offered.

"I'm sorry, though, I'm not allowed to fraternize with the clients."

"You're not allowed to greet a friend?" asked Sakon as he leaned back in his chair comfortably, one arm hanging over the back. "That's one of the most fucking ridiculous things I've ever heard." Shaking his head, his eyes looked away and out the window they had sat nearly. This chick was no prize and he didn't really want to speak with her. He knew it would take more than trying to weedle in to get a rise out of her and right now he didn't feel like trying.

It was probably for the best, since Ukon would not play nice with his twin.

"That's a shame," said Ukon as he took his hand back. Both hands wrapped around his cold glass of water. "Would you like to join us when you go on break, if we're still here? We can put sushi in his mouth so he can't speak." A chin nodded toward his horrible other half while his eyes danced with a thought of laughter.

"That I can do, actually," she answered, smirking at the thought. "If sushi doesn't work, we have extra-strong glue."

"Anyway, I'll go get your food, gentlemen." With that thought, she exited the scene, letting them talk on their own for a bit.

Smiling softly, Ukon nodded. "Thank you," he said before he could take his hand back from Sakon who had attempted to bite his palm.

"You are vile, disgusting, and will never be happy if you keep trying to bite me. Or verbally bite other people," hissed the elder twin when he pulled his hand back. Sakon sneered at him and shook his head, blond hair falling over his eyes.

"You're flirtin' with the fuckin' waitress, gay boy. How the fuck is it you can go out two days in a row and make friends?" he shot, picking up his drink in irritation to sip from it until half was gone.

"Try being nice."

And so the conversation was over, though the two could easily argue all day and night if need be. Ukon would be glad when Sakura finally returned.

Twenty minutes later, Sakura returned with both their plates, setting them in front of each. "Your tuna rolls."

She paused, then looked up at the watch. 8pm. "And my shift ends now, if the offer is still open?"

Good, the food had come! Both of the twins were very hungry. It was, perhaps, the one thing they hated about going out to dinner. Having to wait for it to arrive. Ukon looked at it gladly before looking back up at Sakura, a hand reaching for the seat to his right.

"Of course," he replied. The elder of the two didn't necessarily go out of his way to be nice, but he found no reason to be crude like his sibling. While he didn't exactly help Sakura with her chair, he had the courtesy to have asked her to join them in the first place.

Sakon would have rather sat alone or pissed someone off by following them around than merely asking for a guest. He was such a twisted soul, though to be honest Ukon's heart was far darker in many aspects. Both had a relatively unpleasant past in relation to the police and the law than either would care to discuss these days. School was a new thing for Ukon, he didn't want to ruin that, and Sakon was so close to having his own company it hurt him not to have it already.

"Long day of work?" asked Sakon grumpily. Ukon had given him a few choice words prior to her arrival.

She took a seat, and leaned back agains the back of her chair. "Yes, very...lucky for me, you brought Sunshine here with you, Ukon-san," she answered, grinning at them as she took off the black apron and hung it over the back of her chair.

Her gaze caught Ayame, the other waitress, and she showed her two fingers. Their code for soba.

Smirking, Ukon drank from his water while looking across the table at his twin. Sometimes it was very strange to almost see yourself and it wasn't a mirror's reflection, but you knew deep down it was someone else.

"I didn't know you worked here," said the elder. "I wouldn't have chosen it had I. I know you two don't get along."

"You're a fucker. I bet you knew."

Shaking his head, Ukon looked somewhat enlightened, if only for a second. "You owe dinner, by the way. You'll pay for Sakura-san's, right? It's only fair."

Sakon glared at Ukon and shook his head slowly, as if he couldn't believe it, before looking at Sakura and giving her a grumpy huff. "I blame you."

"What are you talking about, we get along wonderfully," she laughed, brushing off Sakon's comments as if they were unimportant to her. She had taught herself not to let herself be bothered by people like him. Pretentious, obnoxious assholes; to give it a name.

"So what am I being blamed for, exactly?"

Leaning back in his seat, as if he perhaps wanted to be as far away from Sakura as possible without having to get up and leave, Sakon waved a hand at her. "I'm buyin' you dinner," he commented. "Are your ears filled with wax, princess? Pay fuckin' attention." He sighed and picked up his drink, though it was very close to empty by now, and finished it off.

The swallow of the liquid cooled his own anger and he fell quiet. Ukon was giving him a look that only he really should have known. If anyone ever picked up on it, they were probably in worse trouble than he ever was.

"Sakura-san, do you attend the university?" asked Ukon. He generally liked silence but he wanted to know a little more about this nice little lady. She seemed like she could be a good influence on their otherwise bad behaviour.

If Sakon were Naruto, by now he'd be writhing in pain on the floor, and she'd be shouting at him. But he wasn't. And there was also to consider the fact that her co-workers and boss were around.

So instead, she focused on answering Ukon, knowing there would be more time until her own food arrived. "Yes, I do, actually. Pre-med. And you?"

Both of the twins were glad Sakura had not taken out any sort or anger on Sakon. Ukon may as well have felt his pain. Sometimes they had such twin-like moments it even scared them, but then they laughed and thought it was cool. And sometimes after that it got a little bit weird. But should Ukon have had to watch Sakon go down he would have felt every blow.

Looking marginally interested, Ukon nodded. "I'm pre-med, too. And English." How in the world he was going to manage two majors through night courses, he had no idea. It would probably take twice as long to get anywhere with his life, but he'd long since decided that was okay. He had nothing to do, anyhow.

"Do you have labs on Wednesday? It's the only course I have to attend in the day."

Sakon pretty much was bored with the conversation and ate quietly, rolling his eyes. Oh, look at Ukon all smooth with his "kindness" picking up the ladies. Ugh.

"Oh, two? Hah, I'm taking an online one on Literature," she said, then thanked Ayame when she brought her soba. "I think I'll be having them starting...this next school year? Mm."

She was quiet for a moment as she dug into her food, respectfully murmuring the 'Itadakimasu' necessary. Then she looked up at Sakon. "What about you, Sunshine?"

Neither of the twins ever found it necessary to thank the unknown for their meal, despite how angry their mother got once upon a time. Now that they lived alone they did what they liked, and that included not respecting nature before or after eating. It was just how they were.

"Photography. I've taken courses in business," said Sakon after swallowing the latest bite. "Gonna run my own photography studio once I get outta this shitbox."
