A Night a Finnegan’s(Open)

So far it had been a slow night the bar of the authentic Irish pub that Casey worked at. If any of his family and friends saw this place they would laugh their arses off but they were paying him extra to work here just because he had a real Irish accent.

He was hoping that the action would pick up here so he could get more tips and there was not much more cleaning and restocking he could do. Still the night was young and business could definitely still pick up.

"It's why I go for the cheap ones. It's still bad but not as bad as it could be," she says making a face. Which she really should go easier on her phones but with her mutation it was hard not to kill things.

“The wearer best knows where the shoe pinches,” says Casey still curious about how she breaks phones so fast but deciding to not inquire farther about it.

She tilts her head. "Never heard someone say that before. But yeah that sounds about right."

“It’s an old saying from back home,” explains Casey, “Da would say it whenever mom had problems at work.”

"My father used to si... say that it was the husband's duty to make sure their wife gad plenty of shoes," Marica says carefully dancing around the subject of her father being deaf. While she isn't ashamed of her parents in any way. She just didn't like sharing so much.

“I suppose it’s a universal trait of fathers to have a saying for every occasion” says Casey assumedly. He da’s sayings always sounded better in Gaeilge but he had not met anyone in the city who spoke it.

She could see why it looked like there were a few more women in this bar. His voice was easy on the ears.

"Lots of fathers do and our mothers indulge them."

“That is also very true,” Casey says, “But relationships are always two way streets.” Casey thinks of the sacrifices that his parents have had to make over the years but he knows that his family has had it easy compared to others.

"A wise man," Marcia complements tipping her glass as if saluting him. She wonders if it comes with the job. Everyone tells their woes to whoever is pouring the drinks.

Not a problem for her really. She is used to feeling out other people's problems.

“Thanks,” said Casey for the compliment and the tip of a glass. “Right, let me know if you need anything else or if you have any questions,” Casey said as he started walking away.
