Sammy laughed a little. "We're a club," she said to the table. "My parents are as likely to be working on my birthday as they are every other holiday. Some years I don't see them from Thanksgiving to Memorial Day. One year, Dad sent an LMD to take me to lunch on my birthday. Mom was SO mad."
