Lady Mandarin had trained with the Rogers girl and knew her tactics as well. The shield toss had been expected at some point. She moved out of the way of the thrown shield and then blasted it with a repulsor blast so it would not return to the hand that had thrown it.
Lady Mandarin was indeed occupied.
