The Hand of Justice
Hong Kong. Macau. Shanghai.

Lady Mandarin and the Abomination had been busy carrying out the Mandarin's orders. There were pockets of resistance to the Mandarin's control of the Underworld in each city and the two of them were the means by which the Mandarin brought those resisting under his control.

They descended into Beijing and Lady Mandarin set Abomination on the ground before she herself landed.

It was time to carry out her lord's wishes.

	Sarah is still working on recovering when she feels... something. Its like she's drawn to a place through that weird bangle on her arm. Having no other idea where she is, she draws the hammer and shield, and then lets it guide her, only to find... "Anya?" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Damnit. Sarah's reflexes are quick enough to get the shield up in time to block the repulsor blast. The hammer comes up as well, but for the moment, she's on the defense. Last time she had to fight Iron Man and the Hulk at the same time, it was one of the greatest disasters of her career. This isn't good. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Anya's moves she knows. They've trained together, and brainwashing or not, Sarah knows she's the better combatant. On the other hand, she doesn't want to hurt her.

Abomination, on the other hand, she's all for hurting. Indeed, something from that bracelet keeps telling her that the big green thing is supposed to be dead.

She blocks the repulsor blast with the shield, holding it up as a nice target for LM, and swings her hammer at the outreached hand to block the grab.

"Going to have to do better than that."

	Lady Mandarin knew this one would hold back and she would use it to her advantage. She sent another repulsor blast, but not at the girl. This one was aimed at the ground under her feet. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She should have seen that coming. Sarah is thrown off her feet and off balance, too late to block the incoming swing. She gets slammed back, going rolling along the ground before skidding to a stop.

She hovers back up, not repeating her mistake and not giving them any time to take advantage, trying to get them to follow her into more open ground, starting by flinging the shield at L.M. It won't do the damage the hammer would, but hopefully it'll keep Anya occupied a few moments.

	Lady Mandarin had trained with the Rogers girl and knew her tactics as well. The shield toss had been expected at some point. She moved out of the way of the thrown shield and then blasted it with a repulsor blast so it would not return to the hand that had thrown it. Lady Mandarin was indeed occupied. She has a few seconds free of Anya's assault, which cost her her shield for the moment, but its worth it to only need one point of focus. She can't go toe to toe with Blonsky - she's strong, but not quite that strong. And while he's not the Hulk, he's plenty skilled, and pushes her back, having to roll with some of the hits, deflecting others, working on getting some distance from LM and keeping the Abomination between herself and LM until she can get her mind off of Anya, and solely on surviving this fight.

After all that time, its not easy.

	He stomps after his target, moving quickly to give the girl no rest between blows. She has skill; he can see it in her reactions and does what he can to keep her from regrouping for better response. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She can see Anya going after the shield. She'll have it soon, so her time is limited. She shifts suddenly from blocking and fighting defensively, when she has some room to move, to going on offense, ducking low, trying to lunge and slam a shoulder into his gut under one of his swings, following with a hammer-powered uppercut if she can get him doubled over. 	The lunge is unexpected when it comes. He grunts and missteps back before doubling over. The uppercut knocks him down. After a few seconds he's back up to try and rain blows down on her. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She's only going to have one shot at this.

One of the lovely features about Captain America's Shield - in a trained hand, its a fantastic throwing weapon. But the motion isn't a natural one. And most people, especially powerhouses like Lady Mandarin end up throwing it frisbee style.
It works, but its predictable.

Sarah catches it, spinning about with its momentum as Abomination is rising, and comes about just in time to block the repulsor blasts with the shield, angling it to try and reflect the beams at the Abomination's face.

	Rogers was focused on Abomination that she may have forgotten about Lady Mandarin. This would be used to an advantage. Lady Mandarin fired a few small missiles at the blond. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She was a little amazed that actually worked. Before she can follow up though, the missiles hit. She manages to spin the hammer about enough to catch some of it, but the shockwave still sends her reeling, and a piece of shrapnel digs into her leg. The blow strikes home, and she's driven into the ground when she can't whirl about fast enough on her bloody leg.
She rolls with the impact as best she can, coming up from a somersault a few feet away. Seeing the missiles coming, and unable to defend herself from both combatants at the same time, she spins the hammer about, calling up a whirling maelstrom to block her from Anya's sight and confuse her sensors.
Of course, this also sends the missiles spinning and careening crazily about in the tempest in a teapot, but as they begin detonating, she at least hopes as many of them hit or explode near Abomination as are hitting her in the eye of the mini-storm.

Sarah isn't doing much better than the Abomination. While she wasn't directly hit by any of the missiles, she did take numerous blasts. Her vision is a little foggy, and she has another piece of shrapnel buried in her brow, blood leaking into her field of vision. She also has a number of superficial burns, and a couple not quite so superficial ones.

Still, she kept the hammer whirling, and can now make good use of it. Letting the storm die down, she flings the hammer at the Abomination, and takes to the air, both to get weight off her bad leg, and to keep moving so Anya will have a harder time picking her back up.

On one hand, there's no way he can lift the hammer. She knows it. On the other, while he has hold of it, it can't come back to her. She doesn't have sufficient control of it yet to drag something as big as him along.
The first repulsor blast catches her in the ribs, leading to a gritted-teeth scream.
Forcing herself to keep focus, she gets the shield between her and Anya, and dives, trying to crash shoulder-first into the Abomination before he figures out that the hammer won't come off the ground for him. Even if she succeeds, impact at this speed will hurt her plenty too.

Something burns into her side. She feels first the impacts against the shield, then feels herself almost bring crushed under its protection, and the occasional blow getting through. Certainly her jaw dislocates, and a rib cracks under the strain. She feels more blows raining down, and her whole world turns to one focus.

Her hand stretches. Fingertips brush the hammer, but can't quite grab it. She focuses, willing it to come to her hand.

Almost... almost...

Whether she just stretched her hand far enough, or if the hammer responded to her will she'll never know, but her hand closes about the familiar handle even as her vision is blurring worse.

She taps it on the ground even as a massive fist is slamming into her, and the skies open up, lightning arcing down on Blonsky, who is the only shield Sarah has against being hit by her own lightning bolt.

The desperate can't be picky.

	Lightning hit him squarely in the chest and brought every nerve in his body to agonizing life. Amidst the pain Blonsky was dimly aware of a ripping sensation in his head. Then he was separated, the demon that had brought him a semblance of life was gone and his body was once again dead. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

She's not sure what's going on. Was that really Anya? Or the one she knew, anyway? She just remembered kissing her... and it seems like its been a long time since.
She kicks Blonsky's dead weight off of the shield, then just lies there for several minutes, trying to catch her breath and assess her injuries.

Then, driven out of deep worry for Anya, she's finally able to force herself back up to a hover, and takes off in the direction she saw Lady Mandarin fly off in.
