Bad Omens @ 07:54 pm

[info]nextgen_xmen:

Sean had been trying to get in touch with Theresa for a few days now and so far he's had no luck. Worry gripped him. It wasn't like her to be out of touch for so long. He left messages and in the past she would return them within a day. Four days and nothing so far.

It was time to call in some help.

He called Xavier's to see if anyone there had seen her lately or if someone could go to her apartment and check on her.

Hell is a personal thing @ 04:26 pm

[info]uneasy_rider:

There's some inborn sense telling her where to go, and she rides like she's never ridden before. Fully possessed, truly angry, and driven for revenge. Nick is back there keeping up with her, but as she cracks her 21st demon head and crashes through another set of gates leading down to Mephesto's deepest dungeons.

Most of what she picked up in church and reading the Bible was right. There was a lake of fire and souls suffering up demon rules, but this level is something else all together. This is where the Devil puts thought into tormenting the people that really pissed him off. These structures are meant not to torment so much as break and humiliate. One woman screams as she is gang raped over and over again. A proud man is surrounded by faces laughing at him, belittling everything he ever stood for. Another is kept with demon-pigs and forced to eat from a trough. Over and over, people - good people - are made to suffer. Both demon and rider snarl and press forward until they reach a strange quiet place in the middle of this insane place. A house - one of those big, fancy rich places looms in the distance like something from a late night movie. that's when she finally pulls over.

"Ah don't know how ah know," she says to Nick. "But Johnny's in there."

Gates crash closed behind them.

Down and Out in the Big Easy. @ 08:55 am

[info]uneasy_rider:

Her first thought when she turns face up is that she got rolled somehow. Someth'n ain't stick'n, like where she was last night. Last thing she can recall, the Devil and some big fiery Ghost-thing were talk'n some lawyer stuff over her an' Johnny for what they'd done to save Daddy and that's when the world exploded. She'd like to write that off as a hangover dream, but that big fiery demon thing has a name and its talk'n to her say'n it don't know where they are either. the only thing it knows is the bike's here and this ain't home. Home is gone and now the apir of 'em are stuck in the French Quarter.

"Damn, Roxanne," she murmurs to herself as she flips up the kickstand. "Must'a been some weird highway."

Dancing with the Devil’s Past Has Never Been Fun @ 01:13 am

[info]redheadspy:

Natasha opened her eyes to all too familiar surroundings. S.H.I.E.L.D. Medical. She had been in this place way too much lately. She was beginning to think that S.H.I.E.L.D. had a special wing just for her family. At some point in the past year and a half each of them had been in here for various things.

What the hell happened? The last thing she remembered was being in Boston and looking for Tony with...James? Had it really been him? Had she imagined talking to him? She remembered him and Kraven of all people. Wasn't he supposed to be dead?

If only she could shake this fuzzy feeling she had in her head she'd be able to think and remember what happened. She remembered the bistro and looking for Tony and then the scuffle. She remembered a knife catching her in the shoulder. She touched it, but it seemed to be healed. What the hell happened and how long had she been out?

She had to get out of here and get some answers.

Encore Performance @ 02:42 am

[info]nextgen_baddie:

The spell took longer than he had planned, but Eric Williams had finally been able to complete it. The spell took days to prepare and hours to perform, but in the end it had worked. The graves in the cemetery were disrupted and the ground was disturbed from underneath.

Zombies crawled out of the graves, including the rotting corpses of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley, and Jennifer Aniston (though she wasn't supposed to be dead yet).

The zombies started moving out from the cemetery and into LA. They bit and tried to eat anyone they came across.

Eric Williams laughed as he watched the chaos.

(no subject) @ 09:55 pm

[info]nextgen_adult:

The body of Danny Rand lay in an alley amidst the litter and trash.

The battle had been one that would have made any kung-fu fan's wet dream. The two men battled back and forth, fists and feet moving almost too fast to follow. It was a display of supreme martial arts skills the like that very few had ever seen. There would be a winner at the end of it all.

In the end the Iron Fist had lost. Not only did he lose the fight, when he wakes he would find that he had also lost the power of the Iron Fist.

Adjustments: @ 09:48 pm

[info]wwii_hero:

Bucky's been lost for several hours now. He tried calling the Avengers' East compound, but the number was answered by a young student. He even tried reaching Tony Stark's personal number, but that number was disconnected.

He sits in the internet cafe, shaking his head. It's wrong -- all wrong. The Avengers formed decades before they should have -- in the 70s. Steve was the one frozen in ice for decades... not him. It's like... a strange mirror world based on his own.

Did he slip into another dimension? How? His memory is like swiss cheese, though... he can't remember specific moments clearly.

He looks up the address for the Avengers East -- still the same place, the Maria Stark house. He gets to his feet. He can't just call the normal number -- it'll get ignored. He needs to show up in person. Maybe find Steve; even in a different world, he knows he can trust Steve. And they can help him find Tasha, which is his top priority. If he hadn't screwed up, assumed Tasha would be able to read his style as easily as he read hers in combat, she wouldn't be gone now.

The Valley of Spirits @ 11:30 pm

[info]rogue_star:

From the tales of James Rhodes, and the Lady Mandarin armor, Sarah figures out where she's at. The Valley of Spirits, and within it, the palace of the Mandarin. For most, its a forbidden place, and for anyone, a foreboding one. Were it not for it being Anya, she'd likely hesitate here before encroaching further. "Oh Anya, what have you gotten yourself into?" she whispers.

She's gotten herself as patched up as she can. Her jaw is reset, though that was painful. Her rib is wrapped, her leg and forehead bandaged, both bandages already soaking through. Tomorrow, she's going to be one big bruise, if she even lives that long.

At her best, she's driven Temujin off, but he wasn't to be taken lightly. And this time, he has help, she doesn't, and she's definitely not at her best.

Still, she's healthy enough to announce her presence by taking Mjolnir to the front gates, turning them into splinters. Sure, she could be stealthy, but he probably has this place rigged with all manner of traps and security, and she doesn't want to be the one who gets surprised. So she sets to just demolishing things as she goes, to force Temujin to come to her or need a new castle.

"Release Anya, you bastard!"

Manipulations @ 11:13 pm

[info]nightspider:

Talia is back in her Marla persona. She's stayed as connected to the Zodiac as she had to the Night Shift, and all the obsessive work finally paid off. Sure, she couldn't get to China herself, and had no doubt Temujin outmuscled her significantly. But that's not where the lady spider could be deadliest. Instead, she made arrangements to speak with one of the more reasonable of her former teammates.

He was hesitant, but agreed to see her.

'Marla, or Libra' walks into the restaurant, heading straight for the booth she was told. Sharp senses scan for any sign of additional trouble, and reads the guards Leo has before they even know she's picked them out from the regulars by their stance.

She bows. "Wen, good to see you."

The Hunted @ 02:03 am

[info]redheadspy:

Natasha was officially worried. Her husband had left a note saying he was going to Boston to have lunch with Anya and that was a few days ago. Father and daughter disappearances were normal, Tony deciding on a whim to go somewhere with Anya, but Natasha hadn't heard from either of them in that time. Then Steve called an informed her of the phone call from Tony.

Natasha told James she was going and was on the next flight to Boston to find any sign of her husband and daughter.

She stood in the bistro where Tony and Anya were to meet and looked around.

The Hand of Justice @ 12:27 am

[info]anyastark:

Hong Kong. Macau. Shanghai.

Lady Mandarin and the Abomination had been busy carrying out the Mandarin's orders. There were pockets of resistance to the Mandarin's control of the Underworld in each city and the two of them were the means by which the Mandarin brought those resisting under his control.

They descended into Beijing and Lady Mandarin set Abomination on the ground before she herself landed.

It was time to carry out her lord's wishes.

Wakin' up the neighbours, (Open to Joe Marko and Omega Red) @ 11:03 pm

[info]tommythetree:

Somewhere remote and out-of-the-way on the grounds for Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, there was a dull thunk.

"Ow."

Tom stumbled back, wincing, one hand clamped to his head. This was officially not his day. He tried to focus, but the pain (and the dawning suspicion he'd gone for too long without taking his tablets, accompanied by an unpleasant mental pressure and feeling of fogginess) got in the way. He leaned forward against the tree he'd just headbutted, one hand out to steady himself.

He'd been fighting, that much was clear. The odd, slightly pricklish sense that signalled he'd been using his powers, as well as the fact that he had just nutted a tree, rather distinctly implied that. But he was alone out here, that much was sure, and right now he had absolutely no idea why.

Slightly more importantly, he didn't know where "here" was, either, or where he'd been the last few days. He had vague memories of getting into an argument with Terry- something about his christmas letter- and then blankness.

He glanced around the strangely familiar woodland.

"Tom, man," he muttered, one hand drawing his shillelagh from his coat, the other bringing his hip flask to his lips, "you've really gone and done it this time..."

Things Are Falling Out of The Sky (open to Defenders) @ 05:18 pm

[info]brit_sorcerer:

The first thing that registered in Quinn's mind was that he was falling. The second was that the ground was coming up REALLY fast. Third was that it was going to be very painful. He tried slowing his descent, but there hadn't been that much air space left. He hit the ground with a loud thud and a groan.

By the Vishanti that hurt.

Moving was not an option at the moment. His whole body hurt. He was going to stay there on the nice comfy grass. Yup, nice comfy grass. Nice and soft and cool. The air was nice and warm and the sun was bright.

He did raise his head and look around a bit. Where was he? He saw a very large mansion and could smell the salt in the air. He had to be near an ocean, but which one? More importantly how did he get here?

And why the hell was he naked?

Waking up @ 01:56 pm

[info]rogue_star:

With the members of KISS given the power of rock, and Dr. Doom defeated, the Exiles begin to fade from the world...

Sarah wakes up with a splitting headache. She knows she's sore all over, but can't quite place why. There's a few faint memories of faces, but she can't put a name to any of them. Last thing she remembers was kissing Anya. She has a sense that was a while ago, but everything in between just isn't coming to her.
She's wearing a strange bracelet, but it doesn't seem to do anything - no clues to where she came here from, and no obvious way to remove it. The shield and hammer are in her hands, so at least that's good, though a sign she may have been fighting. That would explain the soreness.

Its daylight out, causing her to blink a couple times against the day as she wakes up more. Open countryside, nothing that will immediately tell her where she's at. Not up for flying quite yet, she starts with trying to stand up.
