Seeing the bindings tying him here, and discerning the nature of what has happened, Odin shifts tactics. He attacks not the Demogorge, but the binding rituals, disrupting and severing them there, as he seems to come to a realization.
Before he can tell anyone what he's found, however, Odin collapses, his magic spent, the Odinsleep overcoming him, perhaps in line with some sinister magics.
