"I am thy brother, and also a monster. But I am well aware of what I am, and hath no regret of't, save that it causes thee such pain. Be not ashamed of't. I am not.
Regardless, these three things I wouldst ask, difficult as they may be...
If I die before thee, raise a drink in mine honor... and drink it and a dozen more after't. Enjoy them all.
Second, if I die before thee, raise thine sword and call not 'for Asgard', but 'for Halbjorn', e'en if tis but once. Somewhere, I am most certain I wilt hear thee.
And finally... thou hast a most precious gift. Immortality, at least until Ragnarok. The Warrior Madness hast taken much from me... though they art sacrifices I am most proud to make. But not from thee...
Thy path leads thee only to a great sadness. Look at Hogun the Grimm, look at many of those who hath seen many battles, and for't, they canst ne'er find a smile. Nothing brings them joy... they carry on until they die. That ist the way of monsters and sad men. Thou hast wealth, beauty, skill and many years yet left to thee. And thou spendst them all in the dark, training endlessly and taking joy only in accomplishment... what wilt there be when thou'rt a Valkyrie... father enjoys his drink and revelry. Brunnehilde as well...
I do not ask thee to be Aridis, but great things lie ahead of thee. In time, thou wilt be Valkyrie and Princess... in the meantime, live thy life. Raise a few cups, consider all the boys, or girls if thou likest, who wouldst be proud to share thy bed, enjoy fine music... but find thy joy, else when thou hast e'erything thou'rt striving so hard for, there wilt be naught left for thee."
He gently squeezes her hand.
"In that way, mine sister, lies madness. Believe me, I know."
