Even though not technically a mutant herself, Chris has more than a little in common with the other 'feral' types. The longer she goes transformed and stays in the heat of battle, the more of herself she starts to lose. The rage and frustration from the mounting blood loss is only making matters worse. For her, it was as if there wasn't room enough left in her head to be afraid.
At this point she's a frothing mass of claws, teeth, and bloodied fur, striking out in every direction.
