To save Steve was currently conflicted would be an understatement. Happy beyond words that Anya was alive and okay, but angry that that bastard Mandarin had again gotten his hooks into her, and angry at himself that he'd been nowhere near to protect her or even play the smallest part in her rescue.
Some boyfriend he was.
And worse, there was the fact that Natasha was missing and that Toni had been captured as well. Neither would be welcome news, but he doubted he could keep them out of his mind well enough to hide them from Anya.
He arrived at the X-Mansion and after a quick vetting for security purposes, was shown to her cell. Small tears dotted his eyes.
"Missed you, Gorgeous."
