Family Affairs, Cont.
Kristoff woke, very sore, head pounding. He was out of his armor, his hands restrained and locked behind his back. He hadn't ascertained what kind of lock yet, because he was busy noticing the other compartments. Separating everyone via transparent plastic was fairly...classic. He spotted Vincent first, apparently well; Kristoff was actually grateful just to see him even under the circumstances, with all he'd started to fear...
Cassandra, too, though she didn't seem to have regained consciousness, seemed essentially unharmed.
There wasn't a fourth compartment. Instead, outside any of the plastic confines, standing next to his own armor, was Andrea's body. And set beside Cassie was Andrea's head.

"I will be happy to assist in any way that I am able, Kristoff," Andrea said, choosing, for the moment, to defer thoughts on just why Vincent had been so protective of her (as well as a reaction she did not quite understand to the mention of the Skrull women). "Once I am reattached to my body. My systems should have had sufficient time to reboot from the electromagnetic pulse."

Vincent felt the magic suppression vanish like a weight falling from his shoulders. He teleported to Andrea's side, crouching next to her and examining the break where her head had been forcibly disconnected. "I'll handle this..."

He picked up her head, looking at her in concern. "Andrea, run the diagnostic recursive string Denker-439 while I make the manual connections. Let me know if any irregularities register. Cassandra, hold on." He teleported himself, and his one and a half passengers, outside the cell.

Thankfully, the large majority of cables had been ripped from their ports, rather than severed. The synth-flesh would require repairs back at the Baxter Building, but it was a superficial concern. He set Andrea's head back down near the rest of her body, peering closely and making gestures with his fingers. The connections were too fine to be made by hand, and he had no tools. A minor matter manipulating spell would have to do.

Slowly, as if tugged by invisible strings, the wires began reconnecting.

Andrea's eyes closed as she ran the program requested. "No irregularities detected. Beginning systems syncing process. Power levels at 89%... All systems appear to be within acceptable tolerances."

"Forcefields up as soon as you can, Andrea. I'm sure our host is returning right now." Kristoff is not happy over a spell like that's being used in this fashion, but there's no time for arguing with Vincent about it.
He looks to Cassie. "If you could figure out what in the controls can disengage the barriers?" And then, still to Cassie, his expression more anxious. "As to how to deal with him when he does, I am open to suggestions, but we cannot give him time to think."

"I have an idea." Cassie said, all ready working on the control panel. "If you're up to it, Andrea, use your invisibility powers on one of us, I can shrink out of sight. When our friend comes back he'll be confused, if he walks in then we can get behind him. He'll be surrounded. If he realizes it's a trap we can still go after him. We'd have the advantage of surprise."

Yes, maybe a sneak attack wasn't the most honorable thing to do but he'd come after them and used their own fears against them. It wasn't any worse than that.

Vincent made the last of the connections, then wiped his brow. "Andrea, are you functional?"

He looked up to Cassandra. "Let Kristoff go invisible. I have my own illusions and more to weave once the slug returns." His expression was dark, and he was holding Andrea's hand tightly. "Let him see me, for all the good it will do him."

"My functionality is currently at 93% and rising," Andrea reported, flexing her fingers experimentally. She extended them for a moment, then drew them back in. Her hands became invisible, then visible again. They briefly burst into flame, then returned to normal. Finally, her lower arms became orange rock, before again returning to normal.

"All power templates operating within acceptable parameters. I should be able to affect your plan without difficulty."

Once Cassandra had the walls down, Kristoff quickly made his way over to her -- and to his armor, which he started to put on. "Thank you. That sounds like a good idea," he tells her. "Vincent, he has illustrated he prefers our being agitated. Please remember that."

Situation's like this was why she asked to have her clothes made out of unstable molecules.

"Just don't step on me." Cassie smirked as her body shrank.

"Thank-you for the repairs, Vincent," Andrea said, before turning her attention to Kristoff. "Casting invisibility now," she declared, pointing to direct the energies needed to render him invisible.

"Never." Kristoff actually smiles just a little as he looks at Cassandra, then nods appreciatively to Andrea.

T'g'rt headed back to the room as the security systems reported a problem and arrived to find mostly empty.

"What," he said, hands crackling with electricity, "Is going on?"

Vincent was the only one still visible, sitting comfortably on the floor inside his cell, one fist closed, examining it closely.

"You miscalculated." He shut his eyes and opened his fist, as lights of every color and spectrum imaginable flooded the room. His teammates would be prepared for it. He was willing to bet the Skrull wouldn't be.

Andrea was well prepared for the flash, able to look away (closing invisible eyelids tended not to work) in time.

For the moment, keeping herself and Kristoff invisible was no strain at all.

Kristoff has nearly twenty years of experience learning to move carefully enough for the armor not to make too much noise, and while the distraction is occuring, he does so, positioning to an angle behind and to the left of the Skrull.

There was a reason T'g'rt was so thorough in emotional suckerpunches. He prefered an enemy on the ambushed, agitated defensive because he hated, hated being on it.

With the accursed little brat's light show getting him unbalanced, he just unleashes the blast -- thank you, Mr. Dillon -- in the direction he'd been facing.

The Skrull's powers weren't his own. He didn't have the time with them that their true wielders did. His attacks were telegraphed.

Vincent released his sustaining of the light spell, it would fade momentarily, and raised both his palms forward. He wasn't as adept as his parents at energy channeling, but he could more than manage. He swung his arms out to each side, sending the blasts into the walls of.. wherever it was they were. Collateral damage and smoke were more valuable than striking directly for the moment.

Andrea could not, would not, allow Vincent to be harmed. Not when she could prevent it. Reacting almost entirely on instinct, she dropped the invisibility shield as she shifted templates, her arms shifting into orange rock.

She was, fortunately, close enough to drive a fist home to strike.

T'g'rt took the punch hard, but not too hard, thank you Ms. MacPheran. He staggered, but only slightly before starting to whirl back towards her.
Kragoff. He wasn't doing Kragoff right now, he should switch.
The thought left him even more distracted.

Oh he did not just... When this was over Cassie was going to have a talk with Vincent about when it was a good idea to try and knock the walls down and when it was a very bad idea.

Instead she grew to as large as she dared, coming up right behind the skrull and grabbed him. Whatever powers he copied she should be able to hold him still long enough for someone to get a good hit in. She hoped.

Judging by how he'd reacted to Andrea's punch, a great deal of force would be necessary, So given Cassandra's opening, he stepped forward to take a pointblank shot with the repulsor; keep him from getting his bearings at least, even considering his apparent durability.

As the Skrull staggered, Vincent teleported himself into his path, reaching out to touch his face; his spells' power was boosted by physical contact.

"SLEEP!" As he made eye contact with the Skrull, he completed the somatic gestures with his other hand, casting a strong an enchantment as he could under the circumstances.

Turning his face away, trying to shrug it off, T'g'rt fought the compulsion towards sleep hard, but his eyelids started fluttering.

T'g'rt, still struggling against the spell, lights up a last burst of electriity throughout his arms and shoulders to get that accursed female off of him and lash out with his remaining energy -- and superstrength, at the accursed children in front of him.
