Syd shifted the manila envelope to her other hand and then took the offered hand to shake it. "Avery, this is too much," she said as she followed him to their table.
She placed the envelope and her purse on the table. "You look nice," she said. She was nervous and not quite sure what to say. It had been a theme this week.
