The deadliest of all sins... Boredom
Adrian sat in his jazz club Papa Gumbo's, playing idly on the piano. The bar was moderately full, but he was more bored than anything. There was no challenge to life, no thrill to anything. He lived a life that most mortals would be happy to, yet he was less than content.

That probably had to do with the fact that he was a demon in mortal's clothing and had been doing it for far, far too long. He had been doing this for at least fifty years, though how many for sure, he wasn't exactly sure. Long enough for him to be getting tired of it all, that was for sure.

His shift was near an end, and for that, Adrian was glad. Just as he was finishing up his set, his replacement player was standing nearby. Adrian didn't like the man, but that didn't mean he was rude. For a demon, Adrian was quite respectful when he wanted to be.

"Ey Sin, ya'll almost done? How were the tips t'night?" the man asked as Adrian stood and stretched his spine. Green eyes turned to the man, and for a moment, Adrian considered his answers. The tips had been good, but Adrian also tried to minimize his interactions with his coworkers. It made his life harder when people thought they knew him too well.

"Tips were okay. You wanna stay in ragtime mostly.. They're not very entertained with anything before 1950." he said in a low tone, before gathering his bag and moved away. Adrian was hungry and at least after every shift he was afforded a meal. He slid onto a stool and dragged long fingers through dark hair before he sighed and let his shoulders slump.

Did demons have mid-life crises? Considering that he wasn't anywhere near the middle-point of his life, he didn't know what to think. But life sure was pretty dull, it wasn't nearly as bad as life in Hell, but it was really really boring. And he was really bored.

Sin offered her a bit of a ghostly smile, this one sad. "Sometimes, people don't want to know the whole story.. they'd rather have this.. romanticized, dumbed down version of the truth."

He sighed then, his fingers starting to slide over the keys in the form of a song. As he began to sing the song had a haunting quality, a yearning that was hard to miss or deny. The chorus of the song was most haunting though, and spoke of the heartbreak of never having what you wanted seemed to have particular relevance. At least to Sin, it did.

Alisa sat there, somewhat stunned as he began to sing to her... well, she though he was singing to her. This man was highly talented... not like how Argo was talented in the ways of speech, or how Nick was talented in bikes, or even how Corey was talented in art. This felt like a completely natural talent, something rarely seen by mortals. She remained silent, just listening to the hauntingly beautiful lyrics that came from his lips.

With her cheeks flushed and her hands resting in her lap, Alisa slowly closed her eyes and kept listening. She wanted to enjoy this moment for as long as possible.

It wasn't until the song was over that Sin realized he had been singing. Well, he had been aware that he had started, but soon the song took over and Sin found himself falling into it, his voice rising and falling with the emotion that he sung of.

He was nearly breathless from it all by the time the song was done. It was like a release of sorts, though nothing at all could be found sexual about it for him. In many ways, his music was better that sex; it was more fulfilling and fewer people got hurt (or their blood drank.) He found himself gasping for air, his fingers pressing down on the keys in a discordant way while his cheeks flushed as well.

Apparently Alisa was a quite inspiring person - she had yanked a song out of him that he wrote in the depths of despair. A song he had written trying to express his desire for someone.. just one person.. to love.

"I'm sorry, not sure why that came out, but you were supposed to hear it." he all but whispered to her, his face turned down towards the keys. At this angle, his eyes caught the light again, reflecting back a kaleidoscope of colors; the low light of the stage catching his mirrored retinas in the oddest of ways.

"It was... well... beautiful." Alisa smiled a bit more, trying to hide her face with her hair as she sat there, just stunned. "What on Earth inspired you to even... you know... singe such a... a lovely song like dat, Sin?" Because she knew it could not have been her.

Now, there just felt like there was an awkward silence between the two. The only sounds that could be heard now were the people who clapped for the song that was played, and the busy sounds of forks hitting plates and glassing being held to toast.

"I don't know. You inspired me to it.. reminded me of something that the song resonates about myself." replied Sin, a shrug to his shoulders.

The silence wasn't so much awkward for him, but he could tell that the girl was nervous. "Wanna get down off this stage and talk where it's a bit more private?" he asked softly.

Well that just floored her. She inspired him... to sing? This was just so odd to hear. Shaking her head some, Alisa took the time to absorb his works, a faint smile on her face as she looked up at Sin. Despite all that she had been through, despite being shut off from people for so long... she could still be a bit gullible at times. So much so, she did not see any harm in going somewhere private with Sin. They were only going to talk, after all.

"Oui, dat would be fine by me." Her voice was as soft as his as she slowly got off the of piano bench.

Sin wasn't trying to be a creep, he just really wanted to talk to her and wanted off that stage to do it.

Leading the way, Sin came down the stairs to the stage and then drew Alisa to a table near the bar. He picked up a menu then, his expression sliding into a slow smile as he asked "Did you already order? If so, I can pick it up on my tab.."

He tried to play it off, though a touch of red came to his cheeks as he said "I don't make friends this fast usually.."
