Wide Awake and Dreaming
Tessa was feeling lost. Weapon X, the only family and home she had known, was gone. The team had disbanded and Tessa was left on her own. She hadn't been sure what to do or where to go. She wandered a bit and eventually found herself in New York.

She wandered the city a bit and found herself outside an apartment building in the Upper East Side.

The place seemed familiar for some reason, but she couldn't place it. She felt like she had been here before, but she /knew/ she hadn't been here before. It was a weird feeling. If she only knew why.

Which is the most any mutant could promise. He knew it as well as any of them did. The professor could keep a telepathic eye on her until they got to the bottom of things.

"That's all anybody can ask for," he said with a nod.

Tessa nodded. "I don't know what happened to the others. We all scattered after...the stuff that happened here in the city. If Nicholas is still out there, he'll eventually come for you."

"I hope so. It will be nice to feel safe." Tessa doubted she'd ever actually be safe. If Weapon X reformed and wanted her back there would be no stopping them. They could reach her anytime and anyplace.
