Goodnight Goodnight by Maroon 5


He was young again, as if the sands of time had recoiled into the peak of the hourglass.  He sat on the floor with a teddy bear hugged tight against his chest.  The fear made him tremble and pale.  All he saw was the world around him fade slowly, and the void of darkness just got closer and closer.  And in his youth, Franklin could do nothing to stop it.
 

But the mind and the body are two separate things.  In reality, Franklin rested quietly in an induced coma.  His mind was trapped in an unresponsive body, and it created a new reality of imagination for Franklin to journey through.  But he needed help on his journey, and whether they knew it or not- the Fantastic Four had done just what Franklin needed most.  They called for help.

Franklin was surprised at first, but he quickly evaded. Once he was clear, he formed a psionic sword and shield. "This is why I don't own a teddy bear anymore."

"A smart choice." Lyta took to the air, forming a pair of psionic twin katanas.

After getting up from it's lunge the Bear starts swiping at both of them with its razor sharp claws.

The shield raised and caught a strike from the bear. It was stronger than Franklin expected, and he stumbled back. It took him a moment to compose himself again.

One of the katanas in Lyta's hands changed into a dagger. She threw it at the bear's eye.

As the dagger pierces the Bear’s eye it roars angrily at Lyta and starts focusing entirely on her. The partially blinded Bear takes a deep breath before vomiting something like acid towards Lyta.

That was his chance. Franklin rushes behind the bear and swipes at the back of its legs.

"Now that is just disgusting." Lyta wrinkled her nose as she sent up a shield to block the acid coming at her.

Another dagger was formed, and she threw it at the bear's other eye.

As the dagger pieced the Bears other eye and Franklin's attack gives the Bears legs a nasty gnash which some stuffing leaks out of the bear jumps in the air and when it lands it caused a seismic wave though it also worsens the damage on the Bears legs.

It's a wave that knocks Franklin back on his ass. He sprawls to his feet again and swips his sword at the bear's right shoulder.

Lyta formed a couple more daggers, throwing them at the bear's stomach and head.

The blind bear roared as he was bombarded by Franklin’s and Lyta’s attacks. The Bear tries to claw at Franklin behind him but just can’t reach him and vomits towards the source of the daggers. The Bear can’t last to much longer as he has lost a lot of stuffing.

And Franklin moves up closer to the neck and makes a strong swipe from behind. "Hiiyaaaaah!"

The Bear head came flying off and stuffing went everywhere then the Bears body fell over with a thud.

But it didn't end with a thud. The bear's body turned into a silver light, and from that silver light came a torrent of chains. They wrapped themselves around the silver light until it was gone from sight. A lock appeared on the chain ball.

"No more messing with reality for me."

That was the only big oncern about his powers. The rest were, by Franklin's desicion, remaining unlocked.

"I don't know what powers Kristoff wanted you to help me lock away, but that's the only one I'm willing to put to bed right now."

Lyta nodded. "I am here to help you lock up whatever powers you see fit. But I would see where it would not be wise to tamper with reality. I am also here to help you out of your coma. Now that your blocks are back in place, and your shields restored, you should have an easier time coming out of it, but you will still need my help."

"They have. And now, it is time to wake up, Franklin." Lyta focused all of her energy on waking Franklin up. "I can help you...but you must be the one to wake yourself up, in the end."

And Franklin concentrated. Lyta's efforts were really great ones, and it made it much easier for Franklin to slip through into the real world again. Next time he saw her, he would be awake.

With Franklin waking up, Lyta was forced out of his mind, and back into her own. She let out a gasp for air. That had taken quite a lot of energy out of her.

"Welcome back," she said to him, when she'd caught her breath.

"Yeah, I can sit up." He did just then, and got on the side of his bed. Shaking his head, Franklin said, "Alright. Now I've got a lot of things to do. But first... I think I'm going to have to explain myself to the family..."
