Goodnight Goodnight by Maroon 5

He was young again, as if the sands of time had recoiled into the peak of the hourglass.  He sat on the floor with a teddy bear hugged tight against his chest.  The fear made him tremble and pale.  All he saw was the world around him fade slowly, and the void of darkness just got closer and closer.  And in his youth, Franklin could do nothing to stop it.

But the mind and the body are two separate things.  In reality, Franklin rested quietly in an induced coma.  His mind was trapped in an unresponsive body, and it created a new reality of imagination for Franklin to journey through.  But he needed help on his journey, and whether they knew it or not- the Fantastic Four had done just what Franklin needed most.  They called for help.

Valeria followed Andrea and Kristoff.

She had to contain her excitement. She'd barely left his side, but she was so happy that her brother was awake that she couldn't help but have a smile on her face.

"...Hi guys." He was still very nervous.

"Where's...? No, nevermind. I need to explain it to you three the most. I need..." It was hard for him to say it. "I'm sorry. I made the stupid choice. Mom and Dad... I should have left it alone, and I didn't."

He'd be a fool to try and justify it to them. They were family; of course they'd knew why he did what he did. He had the power to make them come back, and he abused that power. As a result, he did more than just bring them back. He brought other people back, and he changed people. It was something he saw when Lyta was helping him.

"And, I'm extra sorry to you, Andrea. If I hadn't abused my power, you wouldn't have been changed." And Franklin didn't know she was reverted back yet.

"Your behavior was certainly...quite rash. And something to keep in mind in terms of your usual maintenance of your blocks and highly emotionally-charged circumstances." Kristoff is his standard clinical self, but his tone is not unsympathetic.

"I am none the worse for wear for my experiences," Andrea told Franklin. Slightly improved, if the changes in her neural net were any indication.

"I managed and I am restored. Do not worry yourself further."

Even if she had had to manage without the support she should have had.

"We were both going through a rough time. You reacted the way I probably would have if I had your power." She gave her brother a small smile. "I'm just glad you're awake."

"Right." He nodded at Kristoff.

"Oh, thank God!" He smiled at Andrea. That was one of the biggest concerns he'd had.

And he didn't say anything to his sister. He smiled, almost tearing up, and went to hug her. She was his absolute biggest worry. "I'm glad to be awake."

And then he backed off. "And now that I am awake, I need to know what happened while I was out. Lyta told me something that I have a hard time believing."

"I would not want to assume what the young lady told you."

Andrea nodded in agreement with Kristoff. "What did she say? We were not directly involved in the conflict, but kept tabs on it."
