Eli sensed the figures in the shadows, though he had trouble getting a bead on their thoughts.
"I have not encountered beings like these before. I can sense them, but their minds are alien. I sense only...hunger." he says, looking at the shadows around them.
He raises his arm, readying himself to engage the first of their pursuers who dares come forth.
