The night of all nights...
Valeria waited in the living room of area of the Fantastic Four's living area of the Baxter Building for James. It was the night of the senior prom for his high school, and she had butterflies in her stomach. Being home-schooled her entire life, Val had never been to a school dance, let alone a prom. She was both excited and nervous.

She was wearing the same dress that she wore for the wedding in Russia. She loved wearing it, and she didn't think that James would really mind that she didn't get a new one. It was only for one night anyway.

Val sat down on the sofa, making sure not to mess up her dress too much. She knew that they'd probably get their pictures taken two dozen times that night.

Even though James had seen her in that dress, it still didn't have any less of an impact.

He stood there with his mouth hanging open for a few moments before his brain finally kicked back in. "Wow. You look...amazing."

James returned the kiss with a quick one. Parents were probably watching. "You look so beautiful." Then he remembered the corsage. "Here," he said and shoved it her hands. He had no clue what he was supposed to do with it.

Val smiled, taking the corsage and slipping onto her wrist. "Thanks. And you are the most handsome guy on the whole planet." She handed him the boutonniere. "Here...um...let's try and pin this thing on." She fumbled with pining it on the lapel of his tux.

"It's a boutonniere. Kind of like a corsage, only it goes on your tux." She finished pining it on. "There we go...sorry if it's a little crooked."

After the pictures, Val and James made their way to the limo. "Wow," Val said as she slid in, "This...is nice."

"Tony and Mom insisted," he explained. "I was going to drive my car, but they said I had to take you in a limo." James sat back and put an arm around Val. "I wasn't going to argue with them."
