Eli grins. "How many of them have offered to make you their Queen or Princess for the small price of staying here forever?" he asks. He's certain they're asking; Vernique seems like the kind of woman who could make a man promise her the sun, moon and stars for even a small token of her favor.
"And how many of them have you disappointed by telling them you won't be staying?" he asks.
