A Night's Rest
Apparently fighting off vampires and cultists earned a person a stay at the city's palace. The local king was most appreciative of having his city emptied of the vampires and cultists and had invited the Avengers along with Red Sonja and Conan to stay for the night in his palace.

Svalin cared not where she stayed, only that she had a place for Tryggvi and someplace to sleep. Hard or soft, it didn't matter. She was used to sleeping on the ground as much as she was used to sleeping in a bed. The girls were shown to one suite and the guys to another. In the middle of the room that connected to the two bedrooms was a large bathtub put into the floor. Servants filled it with steaming water. The same was in the guys' room. They were all expected at dinner in two hours.

Svalin carefully checked her weapons and equipment and laid the out one by one on a table in the room. Getting clean was not the highest priority for her.

	Two hours to get ready for dinner? The thought perplexed Svalin. How could one need that much time to bathe and dress? Mortals were most strange in their customs. She nodded her head and gave in. She could see to her weapons after a bath. "I wilt bathe now at thine insistance." She set her sword down and started to undress. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	After she stripped down and undid her braids,Svalin entered the water. She got wet, she used the soap on her hair and her body, rinsed and then exited the tub. Totally about business and not indulging herself. There were dresses left for the two ladies and Svalin slipped hers on before starting to braid her hair again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Whate'er thou wishes." Svalin relented. The offer to fix her hair made Svalin miss her twin a little. Aridis had always been one to offer help with hair or dress. "I art a shield maiden." 	Vernique's comb pauses for jsut a moment. "What makes you say that?" It seemed awfully pessimistic. And while Svalin, like Hal (though in a slightly different way), was fatalistic, she hadn't seemed pessimistic for pessimism's sake. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"Oh," Vernique says quietly. "Well, I know it's all over my head and definitely not a mortal sort of thing, but I certainly hope you can someday think of...well, think of a good angle for the situation." There had to be an angle, didn't there? Sure, Asgardians might be all...choreographed, but there had to be nuances. Something more to it they could finesse. "In the meantime, we're all glad to have you, you know."
